Part 2: making friends

so, no hourly play by play this time, just random notes from the day of last.

-Met Heidi @ Laila, the bar to which she tends.
-free veggie dogs and AMAZING bloody marys( I had 3)
-Eric, the lowry producer/sound engineer, joins me for a few more drinks, I upload the parker mosli demo onto his Ipod, we subsequently blast it on the house system, to much acclaim from the aforementioned.
-I drip out of the bar ,amidst polite farewells, onto the street for Williamsburg Bedford ave. exploration
-Now, i must explain that I am setting out for what I expected to be sort of an all afternoon journey. But no I made it 2 blocks!!
-ENTER FRONTIER RUCKUS
-on the corner of N7th and Bedford, I here and see something so heart filling and beautiful....them.
-A 6 piece broken down version of an inspiring band from Michigan. absolutely real music. So I stay and watch, and become enthralled in this ear massage.
- I purchase their cd, run back to Laila to burn off a copy of my own to give them,accompanied by all of my corresponding info, and grab the flyer dedicated to their next performance that eve @ cakeshop in Manhattan....just wonderful
-so now I set off to pickle through shops and street buys, with no specific trinkets in mind.
-I pass a smoke shop, and the monkey ,i shall call Goldthwait, suddenly scratches the shit out of my back, so I scurry inside to peruse the selction of cloves the store may offer
-$8 50!!!!! goddamnit goldthwait!
-exit shop and commence to lite my over priced time-released suicide, when walking the street towards me is...bum bum bum....Stephanie.
-stephine is a 21 yr old Aquarius NYU student, that baffles my mind instantaneously.
-we meet eyes and she stops due to my question..."what are you singing"...she comes close and whispers..."the killers, AND I AM A KILLER TOO SHE SAYS"..and whips out, from her bag, a tiny water pistol and shoots me straight in the chest...
-We chit chat about the randomest, and decide to stroll together for a few blocks
-She totally calls me out on being a gemini and we discuss her music carrier aswell as mine, when she stops and exclaims...."I'm going back to the pool".....?????what?
-"the pool" she says matter of factly as if I should know of a, or even THE pool in bedford.....so I with her influence and my curiosity, I follow her to "the pool"
-Now after more walking I pry out of her that the pool is a free music venue, where BAND OF HORSES is playing!!!!!!!...rite now!!!!....so I walk faster
-But unfortunately as we approach we see that everyone is leaving, ofcoase I completely miss the show =(...but we go in anyway, well she does and i follow.
- steph and I part ways, for she decides to go back stage(she's a beautiful girl, she can do that) and I step step back to wenst i came for the hour of daylight is waning.
-Back @ Laila, I sit next to crash and alex, for yet another bloody mary, plus a few other drinks, where I meet Charlotte, a nice young woman from toronto, in town visiting a friend....Charlotte and I discuss poetry and autism and helping the youth of today find ways to express themselves in a nonviolent ways
-IT"S 7:30!!!...I have to get to cakeshop!
-with hand-written directions from alex, I take the Ltrain into Manhatten, and find my way to cakeshop
- on the way there I receive a text message from an unknown stating that I have been added to the guestlist......it made my day
-after searching and searching for an open liquor store, to no avail, i settle for a 40oz of olde english malt liquor, that I securely place in my pack( lets jst say that 5$ for a bud, ain't panda's cup of tea)
-so in as few words as possible, I shall describe the frontier ruckus show:
...............I left the venue full, as if I had eaten a five course meal of fresh organic from great granny's garden, warming, everything I needed
-great kids too, all 6 in the band and their friends, 20 - 22 yrs old and full of love
- I drank and fed goldthwait with them til 2ish, and rode the train home

what a great day.........try and make me leave brooklyn...i dare you
