Frosty Freeze, also known as The Freeze To Please (born Wayne Frost on 8 December 1963 in New York City, New York, U.S.) was a legendary old school hip hop B-Boy best known worldwide as a member of the second generation of the acclaimed hip hop/Breakin’ crew, The Rock Steady Crew.
As a member of RSC, he was known for his comedic, highly acrobatic but yet fearless and inventive style, due to his trademark move, "The Suicide", also known as "The Death Freeze Drop" (a move that he created accidentally by attempting a poorly executed backflip and landing on his back).
His talents with the crew were featured in movies such as Flashdance, Wild Style, Style Wars and The Freshest Kids and made history as the first b-boy to appear on a magazine cover (The Village Voice, 1981). He was also featured in early hip hop music videos like Afrika Bambaataa and The Soulsonic Force’s "Planet Rock" and Malcolm McLaren’s "Buffalo Gals".
Unfortunately Frosty Freeze has fallen extremely ill and is on life support as of March 27, 2008. The Legendary Frosty Freeze of The Rock Steady Crew passed away early this morning in NYC. 4/3/2008 May he rest in peace.
In 2002 I was hanging out with Kurtis Blow for a Interview we did over the night. He drove me through the city to diffrent locations. One was a Bronx school gymhall.
I came into the hall and there were all these kids B-Boying and having fun.
When I turned around Kurtis introduced me to a man who was extremly skinny looking.
He said to me "This is Frosty Freeze from the Rock Steady Crew"
Holy shit !!!!!
I watched the RSC when I was a kid on TV, these dudes where my heros when I was a dancer back in the 80s.
Now for the guys in NY its nothing special, but to a kid from Germany which follows the culture for so long this was very special.
He looked not very healthy even back than, but it was a honour for me to meet him.
R.I.P. Frosty Freeze

Another Great one died.
Klaus Dinger has passed away.
He played drums for Kraftwerk and went on to co-found Neu!
A report from Neu! label Grönland cites the cause of death as heart failure. Dinger was 61, and would have turned 62 on March 24.
Dinger trademarked the steady, propulsive drumming style that came to define the motorik sound associated with krautrock. He drummed on Kraftwerk’s 1970 self-titled debut before leaving the band, along with guitarist Michael Rother, to start Neu! Neu! released three seminal albums during the 70s, and had a noted influence on everyone from David Bowie to Sonic Youth to Stereolab.
After Neu! dissolved, Dinger achieved commercial success with La Düsseldorf.
Brian Eno ones was qouted: "There were three great beats in the 70s. Fela Kuti’s Afrobeat, James Brown’s funk, and Klaus Dinger’s Neu! beat."
RIP Mr.Dinger, thanks for all this great music !!!!
