I hate to start off the list with a game that's prehaps rather unknown by a lot of mainstream gamers and even to those that might have been around for the NES's ride in 1988. If anything I'm sure Golgo is more familiar to those of you that are Anime fans. Golgo, also going under the name of Duke Togo, is the Japanese equivalent to James Bond -- just with a bigger lack of morality and more a hardcore badass. He's not a secret agent, he's an assassin but he's willing to work for anyone if the price is right. He never misses (sans once in the manga, of if you suck and miss in the game) and while he's not the most upstanding of guys, at least he's better than the people he's hired to kill. His past and true identity have remained a secret despite a 1968 debut, and in recent manga he's taken somewhat of a backseat to other characters giving him even more of a mysterious aura. Golgo 13 is definitely worth checking out if you can find a few of the English manga around. The two animated films are also definitely worth tracking down.
