This bail out bill is not a viable or functional option. There is no way we the American people should pay for the greed, corruption and excess of corporate America. Our rights as American citizens are in jeopardy. We must not allow Bush to attain more power without oversight and regulations, never again. This bill will not fix our economy. Please contact your representatives now, take a stand. We must tell our representatives to vote NO, we must defeat this legislation.

hi,
you've got to realize the fix is in...there's a master agenda in play. people are so disoriented that bush is going on a "final victory" tour. it took someone to throw some shoes at him for people to see"the emperor has no clothes!!!" the money is as good as gone. nothing short of social disobedience will even cause a rumble. good luck with the effort.

by the way...we share your opinion about the money. if other people don't care enough not to get robbed what can we do?

until,

We must remain vigilant, we have to get smarter/wiser regarding our actions within the system. Buy with cash, get rid of the plastic. Buy local, be mindful of excessive energy use and spending habits. Yes, civil disobedience is a good thing, but remember, there are many types of civil disobedience. Take part in your community, get involved in local politics. Any lasting change begins with you and how you conduct yourself, raise your children etc. Be well, be strong, be happy. Best, Michael

Long time fan of your music.
While I thought the 700 billion bailout was pure theft, what do you think of Obama now giving us more of the same and then some?

hi, I disagree, I don't think that Obama is giving us more of the same. If you look close Obama has set into motion many ingenious ideas. He has allocated major funding for green jobs, infrastructure repairs, money for schools as well as bailing out banks and lending institutions. He has initiated a new direction for America and for the world. Remember, he inherited this financial crises. He is taking the bull by the horns and he has only been president for less than two months.
I don't have time right now to get any deeper into this here but
I suggest that you take a closer look.

You said: "There is no way we the American people should pay for the greed, corruption and excess of corporate America." You're the one who needs to take a closer look if you think Obama isn't doing the exact same thing - plus all the other "major funding" of the various projects you mentioned. I also agree he inherited the mess, but that doesn't mean continuing to dump money into AIG and assorted financial institutions - not to mention bailing out the auto makers which is nothing more than payback to anachronistic and bloated UAW -- means he's "taking the bull by the horns." I agree that Bush did the same thing, but he was an worthless imperialistic ass only feigning to defend liberty. Even financial guru Jim Cramer, who supported Obama, has been shocked at the far left direction he's taking, arguing that, because of Obama's budget and spending we're now teetering on an economic depression.

Admittedly, our disagreement is perhaps more profound, in that I don't see any government meddling in our lives as ever a good thing, economically or otherwise -- and I think I have history on my side on that score. If the Federal Gov, the Executive branch included, would be forced to adhere to the strict limits proscribed by the Constitution, we'd all be better off.

OTOH, and on a note we can agree on, I was just listening to Gifts and Heart and Center. Great albums (actually, I just recently transferred my albums to cd) which is why I started to hunt you down to see what you've been up to.
So, I guess I'll leave it at that :)

I hear you and I agree with most of what you say. My main point is that Obama is trying to do his best with the mess that was created by the Bush years. I don't agree with bailing out the companies where rampant greed prevailed either. Yes, if the constitution were adhered to I'd be very happy also.

Barack has been in office less than three months and there is a lot to be sorted out. Also, he cannot get anything done in Washington by himself. The present political in America system as it stands is flawed.

Thank you for very much your comment about my music.
