Some life lessons- Europe 2008

Since I cannot sleep I decided to write my long awaited blog about my trip to Europe.

Man... Where to even start!?!

We arrived the beginning of August and were picked up by one of the dopest people ever, my homegirl Maria. Already I couldn't believe the kindness of the people in Berin but that was only a small part of what was yet to come.

I did my first perfomance at SchwuZ, the legendary gay bar in Berlin.. and had a fun time w Dj That Fuckin Sara.. first time rockin with her, but def not the last..

And honestly after that- it was all a blur.

I was blessed enough to rock at Bohannon club with 10 other amazing acts from Berlin, Atlanta, Florida, Cali, and London with a live band. The energy in that place was crazy!!! Since it was a side event for the We B Girlz festival, there was a photography workshop going on and there were cameras everywhere! Not to mention I look over and Martha Cooper was taking photos.. Shit!!!!

Hip Hop Kemp.. damn.. a dream of mine for mad long, ever since I heard about it. Shit happened. Of course our stage was not set up at the time it was supposed to start, we had no banner, no food or even anything backstage, nothing!!! Not even monitors on the stage. Ok panic time... We got most things figured out and rocked it anyway

In the middle of my set, the power of the ENTIRE festival blew out, and thankfully my girl Eternia was hosting. She starting spitting with a beatboxer while I was looking backstage for some ideas.. yes alcohol can solve some crazy problems! So we turned it into a party, filled our hangar, and kept going. Of course DJ That Fuckin Sara was rockin with me, youre stuck w me now homie!!!

I know I will never forget the feeling of watching EMC perform. Before I was an artist I was, and still am, a fan. A die-hard fan that only had hip hop when I felt like the whole damn world was against me. So when I heard the beat drop for Masta Ace- Beautiful.. tears came to my eyes. Couldn't believe I was standing next to one of the most beautiful people I've met who shares the same love for the music!! Watching from backstage, the crowd.. the love.. It was life changing

Saturday was crazy to say the least. A HUGE line up that day.. It was so amazing to see Eternia KILL it.. while I'm standing next to Roxanne and Bahamadia and they were hella feelin it.. I felt like damn.. yes we are all making moves so people need to wake the fk up!!!

Yarah and Mestiza tour the house downnnnn. Even losing her voice, she rocked that shit with PASSION. and that my friends, is hip hop.

I guess my point is.. everyone who rocked our stage and were part of the UNITY project all SHINED. And it made me proud as shit

Of course, when it rains it pours though ha ha. On our way back to Berlin our tour van broke down about 30 min outside of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic... We were all like "Are you SERIOUS!!!!??!" After all the shit we had been through that weekend!!! But we got out of the van and looked up... the sky was completely lit by the stars.. I really think we could see almost every single star.. four people saw shooting stars.. it was so amazing for once I was actually left speechless.. In trouble beauty can def be found..

That whole weekend was amazing... Chillin with the EMC crew, Zion I, Mr Lif and Akrobatik, allllllll the girls involved in UNITY somehow: (Please forgive me if I forget, we were an army!!!)

We B* Girlz!!!!
HISTORY in the making. Unfortunately I was unable to attend a lot of the events. But a short intro- We B*Girlz was a month long project in Berlin full of shows, workshops, etc for beatboxing, breaking, emceeing, djing, and emceeing. The final show was at Cassiopeia all day Friday... and if you missed me and Sara you really missed out... jk... na not really but even if you missed anything you missed out- it was history in the making!!! Finally got to connect w Cora E, Pyranja, B Girl Rokafella, and so many other talented artists from everywhere.

Shouts to everyone who participated and also everyone who cyphered with me that day.. I'm surprised I didnt lose my voice ha ha

So time to get corny.. my time overseas would not have been so dope if it weren't for the people I became close w and connected with over there.. so thanks to:

THANK YOU!!!!!! LMNZZZZZ!!!! YEAAA son.. dont even gotta say shit! Oh and I cannot forget.. Thank YOU! To the EMC crew (Masta Ace, Strick, Punchline, Wordsworth and Frequency) for putting together a night for us all to party in Berlin.. Yes it is true that some girl tried to fight me, but we rolled DEEP lol.

To sum it up.. Berlin will always have a huge place in my heart. And I am eternally grateful for everything about this trip. I will miss you so!!!
