Marten
de Paepe records 2nd cd with producer Excelsior Records! Singer songwriter Marten de paepe (Netherlands)
is currently in the sound Enterprise studios to record his new album.
Frans Hagenaars (known for his work for Excelsior recordings) is
producing the album, which are a follow up to the homemade recordings
from 2007.
On Marten de Paepe:
Marten
de Paepe makes warm, acoustic songs that hold the middle between folk
and pop. He played over a hundred times in the Dutch clubcirquit and
supported people like Joan as Policewoman and Chris Chameleon. In 2008
he played at the popronde and in 2007 he won the National
singer-songwritercopetition Nootuitgang. His songs were featured on
multiple compilations, distributed by Volkoren, Wintertuin and Gonzo

Joanna Chapman-Smith added to the Roepaen-festival line-up! the
Canadian singer and multi-intrumentalist Joanna Chapman- Smith is added to the line up of the to Roots on Roepaen festival (NL on 11/10) at the very last moment.. Chapman-Smith will be touring Europe with
banjoplayer and colleague T.Nile, who will also acompany her on said
festival.
On Joanna Chapman-Smith: Joanna
was born in a musical family which originated from New zealand, Italy
and Brazil, so it's no surprise that her style crosses over from one
genre to the next. Effortlessly she takes the best from each genre and
mixes Eastern european folk with roots, jazz and pop. Her second album
"contraries" appeared in 2009 and the mnagazine rootstime wrote: that
she had the rare quality of adding a touch of mystery to her songs.
Songwriter Joanna leaps and skips from song to song like a musical
oddball that has goten used to the fact that all kinds of birds have
started following her around. Joanna wil return in the fall of 2010 for

Altcountry
success the Epstein (UK) will return to perform 4 times in the Netherlands in
november and december. The young altcountry formation the Epstein
(which played very successfully on the rhythm and bluesnight in the Oosterpoort/Groningen lat May) will return to the netherlands soon for
a whort tour of four performances. The 5-man formation is currently
working on their second album, but decided to combine their tour of Germany with a couple of dutch gigs before dissappearing in the studio
for a longer while. Late November and early December there are
performances in the BBBluesclub in Enschede, Orewoet in Arnhem, de Waerde
Tempel in Heerhugowaard and at the Platformtheatre in Groningen.
Come 2010
the album will be finished and they will return to more venues all over

Yima
adds Rhythm & Bluessinger/masterguitarist Jaimi Faulkner (AUS) to her roster. From
2010 Yima will do the Dutch and Belgium bookings for the young Australian talent Jami
Faulkner. Faulkner already has a reasonable fanbase in Germany and has
also played in Belgium a couple of times. In the US Jaimi has played
together with legends in the bluesworld, and is a guitar virtuoso. He
also has a soulful voice that will make you expect a much older soul
than him (27). Add a little real rhythm and blues with swinging and pumping
songs together with some quiet ways of a true singer-songwriter and you get a sound that is hard to recist! Jaimi will
tour all of Europe in 2010 (to begin with Germany in may and june and Holland/Belgium in Autumn 2010) and will release a accoustic live-album

Ian
Britt will give just one exclusive performance in Mezz Breda (NL) British
singer-songwriter Ian Britt has taken a year off to work on his next
album which will be released in 2010. He hasn't visited the Netherlands in 2009 yet but because of his special bond with the city
of Breda (his fanclub is based here) he will give an exclusive preview
of his new material in the Mezzcafé on sunday afternoon november 15th.
The concert will start on 4 o clock in the afternoon and there is no entrance fee!

Marten de Paepe duikt Excelsior studio in*** Singer-songwriter Marten de Paepe zit op dit moment in de Sound Enterprise Studio in Muiden om
zijn nieuwe plaat op te nemen. Frans Hagenaars (bekend van zijn werk
met Excelsior Recordings) produceert de opnames. De nieuwe opnames zijn
de eerste na de thuisopnames uit 2007. Over Marten de Paepe:
Marten de Paepe maakt warme, akoestische liedjes op het snijvlak van
folk en pop. Hij trad het afgelopen jaar meer dan 100 keer op in het
clubcircuit van Nederland en verzorgde voorprogramma's van onder andere
Joan as Police Woman en Chris Chameleon. In 2008 reisde hij mee met de
Popronde, in 2007 won hij de nationale singer-songwritercompetitie
Nootuitgang. Zijn liedjes verschenen op verschillende
compilaties,uitgegeven door Volkoren, Wintertuin en Gonzo (circus).

inOttersum op 11 oktober a.s. Chapman-Smith tourt met banjospeelster en

festival.

Altcountry succes The Epstein (UK) in november/december voor 4 optredens naar Nederland*** De jonge altcountry formatie the Epstein (die op 2 mei jongstleden nog met veel succes op de Rhythm&Bluesnight in de Oosterpoort speelden)komt
eerder dan gedacht en voor slechts 4 optredens naar Nederland. De5 mans
formatie werkt op dit moment aan hun 2e cd maar besloot toch hun
Duitse tour te combineren met enkele Nederlandse dat alvorens voor
lange tijd de studio in te gaan. Eind november en begin december staan
er optredens geboekt in de BBBluesclub in Enschede, in Orewoet in
Arnhem, in de Waerdse Tempel in Heerhugowaard en in het Platformtheater
in Groningen. In de loop van 2010 komt de nieuwe cd uiten zullen zij
meerdere Nederlandse zalen aandoen!

YIMA voegt rhythm & bluesman en meestersgitarist Jaimi Faulkner (AUS) aan roster toe***Per2010
zal YIMA de boekingen verzorgen voor het jonge Australische talent
Jaimi Faulkner. Faulkner geniet al redelijke bekendheid bij de Duitse
Oosterburen en heeft ook al eens in Belgie gespeeld maar tot nu toe was
hij nog niet in Nederland te zien. Jaimi speelde in Amerika al reeds
met enkele groten in de blueswereld en weet als geen ander een pittig
potje gitaar te spelen. Daarnaast bezit hij de soulvolle stem van
iemand met heel wat meer levenservaring dan zijn leeftijd (27) doet
vermoeden. Echte rhythm & blues met swingende en pompende liedjes
maar soms ook de verstilling van een singer-songwriter

Britse singer-songwriter Ian Britt heeft dit jaar een sabatical om aan
zijn nieuwe cd te werken die in 2010 gaat uitkomen. Hij is dan ook niet
in Nederland te zien geweest dit jaar. Maar omdat hij een speciale band
met Breda (waar zijn fanclub zit) heeft zal hij naast een radio
optreden op zondagmiddag15 november een exclusief voorproefje geven van
zijn nieuwe werk in het Mezzcafe te Breda. Aanvang van het concert is
