Club 7 is quickly making a name for itself as one of the premiere jazz ensembles of this generation. It has been written, "Club 7 embodies the spirit and love of Traditional Jazz, but brings their own influence and style to make the music their own." On their first CD, "A Closer Walk," the band has captured the sound of the 30s and 40's, an indication that they refuse to let that music become a memory. In January 2008, the band recorded their second CD, "Shine," expanding their musical presentation.
In 2004, the Club 7 Jazz Band began performing locally at music school events and college dances, and in Eugene; but soon found themselves traveling all over Oregon, including Coos Bay, Medford, Bend, Sisters, and Portland, performing mainly at Traditional Jazz Festivals. The band has also performed at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee (2007) where they developed a nice following and were well received by the crowds.
