with the winter on the wane for us northern hemisphere dwellers, it feels like new-ness is beginning to come into being all around. or maybe it's the disintegration of old stuff, of which we could each no doubt submit a list, to be filed under 'for better or worse.' indeed, i'm struggling to not define too rigidly the boundary between loss and flowering.

that shifting, inchoate space is indeed fertile ground for creation. of late, i've been happily receiving lots of inspiration and now find myself in the midst of a number of new tunes in nascent phases. it will be interesting to see how they develop in the coming weeks and months.

meanwhile, as those who have recently visited the alchemist records site know, the collective has recently signed on with a company based in france who will be distributing alchemist releases online to a number of retail sites. the first record to go through the process is my recently completed album 'the declaration of interdependence.' along with that, we're also releasing a new internet-only single, which means, in honor of 45 RPM singles, two songs -- A and B sides, so to speak. the songs are "alejandra told me" and "hypnosis." videos will accompany both tunes, the former by ace filmmaker jeff palmer, the latter a subconscious exploration by yours truly.

so when are these happenings happening? the plan is for 'the declaration...' and the single to be available the first week of april....ish. i will post a more definitive date as soon as we can say for sure.

following on the heels of the wide release of my stuff, fellow alchemist i and i will be releasing a new record called 'white noise/black music.' it's a wonderful album, as you will soon see..or hear, rather.
