After the horrible/depressing show we performed at Creepy Crawl on September 28, 2007, and then reading embarrassingly negative reviews about the show, we have decided to provide an alternative solution. Instead of complaining about clubs with no working stage monitors (bands cannot hear themselves or each other), blown out P.A. systems, drunk/drugged up soundmen, clubs that do not pay the bands, etc. we are finding people to host home shows or music store lobby shows. We have found a few hosts and we will be bringing our own sound equipment to their spaces and playing invitation only shows. If you are interested in any of these shows let us know. We WILL still play some clubs on occasion, especially ones with VERY good soundpeople and equipment (THE DUCK ROOM and OFF BROADWAY).
We do not have to play very loud to perform. I think that most clubs are too loud. You cannot hear all of the instruments or any of the melody if it's too loud. I agree, the power and energy of real loud music does FEEL great, it makes you want to move, perform, etc. But it just does not do the music any justice. We CAN play as loud as a loud home stereo but we don't have to make your home rumble to play muzik.
