The girly trio is headed for its second ever over-the-Border gig (well it's almost international!) for the lovely Twickfolks in Twickenham on December 7th following Scottish shows at Karine's local Nitten Folk Club in Newtongrange (Thursday 4th December) and as part of The Scots Trad Music Awards Fringe Club (Saturday 6th December in Glasgow). Karine has played at Twickfolk at The Cabbage Patch with her trio and tells us all it's "lovely and friendly" and full of brilliant singers. That's what we like to hear!

Our show starts at 8pm but Karine is also doing a solo charity fundraiser show for Amnesty International at the same venue just after 4pm that afternoon (or as quick as she can tank it from Kings Cross Station). You can buy tickets separately or as a two gig "bundle"!

All of the material is entirely different between the two sets. And translations will be provided ;)

Us lassies will be providing Seasonal Good Cheer for (Julie) Fowlis and Folk on BBC Radio Scotland on Christmas Day. And we'll be seeing in The New Year close to home at The Picture House in Edinburgh on a top bill featuring the mighty acid crofters Shooglenifty, Karine's old bandmates Malinky and an all-star ceilidh band featuring our all-time favourite folky Anna Massie.

We're delighted that we appear to be in a party band after all these years of being miserable folk singers.

Come to Twickfolk and we'll show you our Abba moves ...

Two weeks to go until Twickfolk - I can hardly wait. Wild horses etc etc.

Karine - any chance of hearing "Wife of Usher's Well"? It's a gorgeous song, if a wee touch depressing ;)

Cheers,

--Chris

"Wife at", not "wife of". Fingers operating without authorisation from brain...

Fast train from Waterloo is the quickest, I was informed on Friday in the Citrus Tree ( a bijou Bedford bar) by a friend who watches England rugby. But this was after he had endured five pints in mental preparation for the ritual drubbing by the Boks, so he may have been confused.
