I was just as stunned reading it, as I was when my step-dad slapped me in the face in front of the ENTIRE 8th grade. Although in this case, I didn't have to deal with the humiliation of the fallout. But the insinuation that I should quit comedy equalled the snickers, teases and taunts I received thereafter.

More than one time since I have been comedy have I heard this from someone who doesn't "get it". Very few comments are as insulting or as UNSUPPORTIVE as a statement such as this. Mainly because struggling to get to the stage is 98% of the equation.

Another name has been added to a list of doubters, which seems to increase the harder I work. Some people don't understand what passion is about, so it's easy to bemoan.

I'm in it for life....bury me with the a microphone!

People don't understand that you can't 'quit' being a comic. They might as well ask me to 'quit' being Polish. You can't quit being who you are. Keep on keeping on...you are a funny cat!

James..... "Bury Me With The Mic" I like that.....! That is exactly the attitude it takes to be a comic.
I just hope it's a cordless mic! :D


IDEA: I might just have to pimp my casket.... speakers and amp installed in the sides....cordless mic and movie lights lining the corners. All powered by "Stargate Atlantis's" Zero Point Module (ZPM). The ZPM would be able to power the electronics for 10,000 years. Long enough to EMCEE in the afterlife.


My fault..... too much medication.
I think I should lower the dosage! :D (ROFLMAO)

Oh honey...I'm so sorry you had to go thru that! I mean, every comic's comedy is not for everybody...sometimes people just don't get it...but damn, they can always leave...I mean, you have to be pretty sad about your own life to go out of your way to actually say (or write) something like that to a person. You know you are DAMN funny! Please don't dwell on this anymore...you know your real fans got your back...and your good friends too! ;-)

I have heard the same thing Quit singing your too old, Quit singing your too big, Quit singing there are people better then you out there....What a slap in the face!!! How dare anyone tell someone who has the Talent to quit believing and living your dream. I had the wonderful opportunity of catching your show and you were wonderful so wonderful I drove to catch another one. DO you Mr. Berry because You are good at it...

You are good at what you do and those who doubt you have nevered wanted or dreamed of anything they desired in life. It sometimes seem people don't like others to succeed in life so they take it upon themselves to put others down cause thats what makes them feel good. I admire your strength and courage, and the work you do.I wish you the best of luck on your journey and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Please, please, please, don't ever quit doing what you love to do. If it wasn't for comedy, I'd have never gotten to know you as a friend and someone incredible and funny to talk to, when I'm haviing a bad day all I gotta do it send you a message and you make me smile... You can't let someone else tell you to quit what you love and do something else... Do what you gotta do to be happy with your own life and don't worry about what the doubters think... It doesn't matter what they think as long as you're happy, I'll be happy for you.
