2 days in and we've done the drums for half the album. it's sounding tighter than something that would get you arrested for looking at a photo of on the internet.

peace paragon custom maple 6 ply toms 8 ply kick.
10x7 mic'd with an sm57
12x8 mic'd with an sm57
16x14 floor mic'd with an d112
20 x 20 kick with aquarian superkick 2 mic'd with a beta 91 for the punch-factor and some
random one i don't know what is for the boom. no trigger.
14 x 6.5 cast seamless brass yamaha snare drum with an emperor x on top and a evans snare side hazy on the bottom. mic'd with a sm57 top and bottom
remo coated emperors on all toms
also some condenser mics i dont know what they are and 2 ambient mics dotted around
cymbals:
13" hhx evolution hats
21" zildjian mega bell ride
16" aax stage crash
18" hhx studio crash
20" aaxplosion crash
8" stagg splash (yeah boooi)
10" aax splash
18" aax china
19"aaxtreme china
as far as sounds we're going for an opeth-y natural sounding kick and snare sound so it sounds massive, whilst keeping a compressed punchy sound for the rack toms to make sure all the fast fills come through nicely.
there are no triggers on this album, no programmed drums, and minimal editing - mostly doing whole retakes. as a result i don't think i will be able to have children - but regardless i'm so proud with what we've acheived so far.
so uhhh yeah videos should be up next week or something. jokes
love you baai
