OFF they COME!

I have begun to shear my facial hair!

This has been planned for over a month...I shaved each side of my face along the jaw line...I will be uploading pics of each stage of this bit of "performance" art...my beard is in a braid at this point...in a few days, I will create TWO braids and shave the middle of my chin...once I get to the weekend, the last few stages won't be mentioned aforehand, but will be photographed for posterity's sake...it took a year and a half of NOT shaving (Simple isn't it? I wasn't "growing a beard" - I was simply NOT doing anything about what happens naturally when it comes to facial hair...LOL!!!), I was/am in no hurry to get rid of it all quickly in one swell foop!

 LOL, been expecting this denudement. I never could keep a set of whiskers for long. Mine have settled into an annual cycle. I'll be anxiously awaiting the slide show.

Slide show?

Prepare yourself for some "mug shots" - one LIKE this (face forward), ONE like this (faces right), & one like THIS (faces left...) LOL!!! I'm braiding the beard in 2 strands, and have quickly discovered that I need a mirror to get started, but THEN I can look down at it and go from there...since this is all AD-LIB, it comes out different each time...but the learning curve is fast, like a drover getting good at rolling tobacco while riding a horse...I'll take a couple of days before the next step, so friends and co-workers can see each step...next? shave the middle of the chin...and make 2 distinct braids...(I will have it all off by Monday 7/24 when I get my haircut...) I'll probably leave my mustache until Saturday the 29th...

I'm ready with a snappy retort when somebody sez, JESSE, YOU SHAVED! I'll pause for comic effect and say, YOU NOTICED...(Cheshire Cat GRIN...)
