Let it be known: You Make Engine popped the cherry on The Parish's new soundboard! That was pretty cool, and - as expected - we sounded great in the monitors and I'd assume in the room. On the downside, only a few of y'all showed up! :( We had to rock other bands' fans this night, and I think we did a decent job of it.

We were first and the only complaint I had about our set was that it took me too long to figure out that my delay pedal had a short in it that was cutting me out completely whenever I moved the wrong way. Problem fixed for the future, but it took the steam out of our show a couple times. Other than that, I think we smoked. We played all our songs, covers included, and had a little bit of a dance pit going on. Thanks to Troy and Shawn for coming out!

Rivers & The Roughcuts were next, they brought most of the 50 or so people there. They've been working hard, playing tons of shows around town, and they have a pretty good sound for a club like Antone's. Definitely not my favorite mix of sounds, but I did like the hip-hop they threw in at the end a lot. More rapping, less noodling.

X-Rated Presents played first at Jenny's graduation party last year, our first show ever. They've had some lineup changes and seemed a bit tighter, but just as snotty. In a good way.
