Current mood: aggravated Category: Travel and Places
I started my Tuesday off with a trip to Six Flags to A: Renew my season pass and B: To ride the new Batman Dark Knight Indoor Roller Coaster. For those of you who know me, you know that I'm a roller coaster junkie, for those of you who really know me, you know that I would prefer to die on a roller coaster. I mean in theory what better way is there? You're coming off of the first big drop and your stomach is in your head, you're laughter turns into screaming and then laughter again, and then BLACK OUT. Maybe your harness comes undone, maybe a bird hits you in the face, maybe you have a heart attack. Either way, you were having fun when it happened.
This is not the case for the new Dark Knight Coaster. I think I would be embarrased if my face was all over the news saying, Tommy Brennan died while riding the Dark Knight Coaster today at Six Flags; well at least I know my friends and family would be embarrased. Its such a lame ride from beginning to its 45 second end. The ambiance of the ride is cool. You're walking through a Gotham City Subway after watching a press conference gone wrong from Gotham's D.A. Harvey Dent. Then you get into a subway car-esque roler coaster car that brings you through what is supposed to be the subway system and eventually Gotham City torn apart by The Joker, voiced by Heath Ledger. Saddly enough is probablly the scariest part of this ride. After a couple of hair pin turns, a couple of dips, and some lighting and sound effects, you come out of the subway tunnel, and that's it... I repeat...THAT'S IT!
So in closing I give The Dark Knight Coaster the Skull Mountain Award, an award that is reserved for the most useless piece of machinery with a cool premise. I'm saving my D-Day for El Toro, Nitro, or King Da Ka; which is probablly more feisable due to how many times the king has already broken down. See you on the waiting line.
