Current mood: ecstatic
First off, I'd like to give shouts to my ace Dandiggity, for droppin' science on Spin like Bill Nye, to my boy Jeff, for always being in the know (he's the one that made me aware of the news I'm about to drop), and to all that came out and supported us at MM's new home at Voodoo. Especially to those folks who help pick me up off of the ground after spraining my knee while chasing a knuckle-headed bouncer carrying my brother out in a chokehold. Shit was off the chains, otherwise.
So onto the news...
The February issue of Spin Magazine shouted us out for Music Machine, in a monthly column called "Spin Out," which lists "the best times you'll have all month" We're on page 100. Here's a transcription for those who do not want to be caught purchasing a magazine with My Chemical Romance on the cover (more on MCR later)...
"February 3
Music Machine Sofa Lounge, San Jose
From Debbie Deb to A Tribe Called Quest to Bjork, expect anything and everything at this hyperactive house party, which poses as a posh sofa-laden den of sin."
I'm sending an e-mail to Spin first thing in the morning to correct them on the new location. They were also nice enough to mention our boy Basura's Atomic party @ the Blank Club, where I also spin from time to time. It's nice to know the word is spreading. Thanks a million to Dandiggity and Spin!
Before I go, I caught a pull quote on the cover from My Chemical Romance stating, "Kids were gonna kill themselves, then they heard our music."
I tried to avoid reading the article, in fear that I might die from laughter, and have it be ruled as a suicide.
