Current mood:  ecstatic

This is the greatest release of the summer.  And In my opinion one of the greatest releases since the white album.

It is three albums at the price of a single album,  The path is a story of the life of a boy who's life is plauged by the role money plays in it, and the importance his father and his mother place on it.

The Mother musically portrays his mother.

And the Mechanic musically portrays the father.

a few quotes from A.P.:

"Tapping into the potential Enders(ace, lead singer, writer, guitar player) hinted at with his eclectic side band, I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business, The Mother erratically jumps through genres and styles, focusing on more mellow, pop-flavored material... straight-ahead rock more typical of TEN on disc two("The Mechanic"); before seemingly launching into outer space for disc three("The Path"), which revolves around the concepts of money polluting the world and the perpetual cycle of kids hating their overbearing parents - then growing up to become the very same overbearing parents themselves - while utilizing musical idioms such as jazz and ragtime to accompany the disc's story arc."

"It's not until later, when discussing TEN's future that you get a full sense of just how driven Enders is.  Next summer, after spending this year promoting the new record, he plans to release one new album every month for an entire year, mostly as a solo artist, with each disc featuring 10 songs and different musical "Themes" ranging from grunge to country."

I have had an array of "favorite" bands in my life, and usually I have several favorites at a time.  But this album has solidified The Early Novembers slot as current #1 favorite band.

you need to hear this CD, if not own it.

Currently listening:
The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path

Makes me a little sad that I wasn't more on the ball when you guys were in town. The white album claim was a bit over-the-top though. Don't you think? Sme great albums have come out since then. Bright Eyes Lifted... or Pearl Jam's Ten, or Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon. You go tto think these things through my friend. I will, however be nuetral and not sceptical while listening to it though.

I possibly need to choose my words more wisely due to personal enterpretations.  But what I ment by "one of the greatest albums since the white album"  I ment exactly that, since 1968 there have been many great releases that are worth loving, and that this one is up there.  In my eyes possibly in the top 30-40 or so, but that is obviously not the same views of the world.  So far everyone I have shared it with likes it, but not as much as myself, so maybe I should stop hyping it up as much, and they would like it more.

So I went and bought it this morning. I had listened to it almost non-stop for the last three hours. I was quite pleased and wasn't dissapointed. Your review, although in my opinion not 100% accurate was good. The thing is I also bought Thome Yorke's new album and in my opinion it is slightly better. But, like you said, it is all a matter of opinion because there are a lot of people out there that think Rascal Flatts has the album of the summer and we both know what that opinion is worth....

i didn't think much of the eraser to the guy who commented above me.

i think this triple-disc is beautiful not because of the musical content itself but more because it records a man inspired and shows his growth and details his aspirations for more. it's one of those albums that exudes a feeling of warmth and some sort of happiness. and for that, it is brilliant.

I was dissappointed man. I was hoping for something more, but that was because of my own hyping the early november, not yours. i like their earlier work better. they sound too polished, and the songs dont stick with you. its good, and i really like the path, but... they could have done better. i know this from the demos of some of the songs. in fact, this album is what kept them from becoming my favorite band. theyre still like top five, but this was a let down.
