Fran Lee "D.J. Frantic" Erck
FRAN LEE "D.J. FRANTIC" ERCK, age 31, a lifelong resident of Irving, Texas, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Dallas.
Born May 1, 1976 in Irving, Fran graduated from Dallas Sound Lab in Las Colinas and later returned there to teach others the art of turntablism. A disc jockey for over eight years, his career began with his love of music. As a well known D.J. in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Fran was always interested in helping his large following. If Fran wasn't D.J'ing at a local club, he could be found at home perfecting his talent on his turntables.
On June 3, 2007, he married Stacy Whitaker at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony. Fran is survived by his wife, Stacy; his babies, Laddie, Lexi and Kitty; father, Les Erck of Irving; mother, B. J. Karnath and husband Steve of Trophy Club; sister, April Prince and husband Rob of Arlington; grandparents, Drexell and Mary Toombs of Grand Prairie, and Ola Whitaker of Flower Mound; parents-in-law, Mike and Joanne Whitaker of Lewisville; sisters-in-law, Elaine Cool and husband Chris of Houston, and Annette Setliff and husband Adam of Dallas.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. A service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Irving with Pastor John Durham officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
