On one of my many trips to Los Angeles I was able to hang out with Wesley Jonathan , it was more like work because he was actually moving while I interviewed him.  Not sure if you remember this guy or not but he has been in the business for a very long time, he has been acting almost all of his life.  Born in Los Angeles, Jonathan spent four years living in Germany as a youth and still speaks some German.  He stands six feet and works hard in the gym to keep that ladies in awe of his body.  The middle of three children that includes two sisters, he as been the bread winner of his family since the age nine, when he first became interested in show business when his cousin Crystal took him with her on her acting auditions, within six month he landed his first role, a small part in the television series " 21 Jump Street ."  In addition to landing the role, he was flown to Vancouver, Canada, where the how was being filmed.  " Roll Bounce " was his first motion picture, but it did not come easy Wesley told me in this mist of moving boxes.

.. He came close to not getting the role several times and when it was actually his for he third time he almost blew do to coming very close to cutting his hair.  "I was almost pushed out of the part twice," Wesley said as if I hit a sour spot. "Every time I think about that movie it is almost like I cannot even enjoy calling it my first motion picture role due to all the bullshit they took me through."  It was almost like he had to fight for his respect as an actor after being in the business for so long.  It could be best described as a veteran having to prove himself.  However, fight is just what he had to do to get the part and keep it.  As he told me with the movie was being pitched to producers he was called in for a table read then called back after the movie was funded.  Loosing count of if it was his second or third audition with Monica Swan the casting agent for the movie, after she called him and told him the role was his another person from he office called him back a week later to tell him they were going to go with Usher or Omarion .  The devastating part of the whole story was that Jonathan had turned down another part that was ready to go into production to do " Roll Bounce ," to only be turned down again.  After much prayer and crying Wesley was called in for good and continued to be the provider for his family.  The opportunity was a great one for him, but a challenge non-the-less, the film was already in production when he was ask back and he was behind the game in working out and getting the hang of roller skating.  Bow Wow and the rest of the cast seemed to have been light years ahead of him.

"I was in the best shape of my life during the movie," Wesley said laughing.  "As you can see I am not ripped like I was then now."  Twelve to sixteen hours a day on the set and no less than three more hours in the gym everyday Wesley had the time of his life and the fight of his life simultaneously.  Admitting that he has a bad temper, but will go out of his way for others he is a self proclaimed extreme personality.  The very private guy says everyone has a different story and his was being the bread winner for his family.  A product of a single parent household he was focused on working at a young age so when he was sixteen or seventeen and being recognized on the street it was just part of his job.  Continually focused on this next job, Wesley loves roles that challenge him and require him to become a totally different person.  His great desire, in his career will be to go deep into character and become someone else.  A single guy in L.A. Wesley did have some choice words about Hip Hop artist and singers being getting parts just because of their name.  "It is like being robbed.  Not many of those guys can do it and it is not like our job is just so easy that some guy or girl can make it happen," Wesley explained.  "It is all about money and unfortunately many producers will sacrifice getting someone good for the sake of selling tickets."  He went on to share with me that a good thespian would sell just as many tickets in the box office as a rapper. 

Wendy Raquel Robinson , pooch Hall and Tamala Jones were among the stars on hand to celebrate Carmelo Anthony and Jordan Brand’s launch of the Jordan Melo M4 basketball shoe.  The black-carpet event took place recently at Hornburg Jaguar in Beverly Hills and featured a gallery of artwork unique to the shoe, as well as an installation of a 2008 Jaguar XKR coupe luxury car wrapped in emblems and designs that represents his life from Puerto Rico to Baltimore and Denver.  His Jordan Melo M4 TV commercial " Engine ," which debuted on Thanksgiving Day, played on plasma screens sprinkled throughout the dealership.  The shoe officially launched on Saturday, December 1, 2007 with a suggested retail price of $120. 

Everyone knows that I like Kanye West and he has to be my favorite Hip Hop artist.  His conceptual genius is without debate.  However, that was not the feeling of Evel Knievel, who had issues with West’s " Touch the Sky " music video.  The legendary daredevil Evel Knievel died Friday, just days after announcing his meeting with Kanye West that led to a settlement over the rapper’s video for " Touch the Sky ."  The 1970s motorcycle stuntman has had a myriad of health problems in recent years, including diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.  He had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of Hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his many illnesses.  He also suffered two strokes in recent years.  Knievel , 69, died two days after it was announced that he and Kanye had settled a federal lawsuit over the use of Knievel’s trademarked image in " Touch the Sky ."  The video features the artist as " Evel Kanyevel " trying to jump a rocket-powered motorcycle over a canyon.  Knievel failed in his attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon in Idaho in 1974.  West’s attorneys argued the video amounted to satire, covered under the First Amendment.  "We settled the lawsuit amicably," Knievel said last Tuesday in a joint statement released by Kanye’s Def Jam.  "I was very satisfied and so was he."  Knievel also express concern for West in the wake of his mother’s death on November 10.  "I know he’s had some tough times the past few weeks, and I hope things work out," Knievel said. 

In more Kanye West news, Akon and will.i.am were enlisted to remix tracks on the upcoming 25 th anniversary commemorative reissue of Michael Jackson’s classic album, " Thriller ," form Epic/Legacy Recordings.  Due February 12, the " Thriller--25 th Anniversary Edition " will include the original album in its entirety as well s eight bonus tracks and a DVD featuring Jackson’s groundbreaking short films from " Thriller " (" Thriller ," " Beat It ," and " Billie Jean ") and the artist’s Emmy-nominated breakout performance of " Billie Jean " form the legendary " Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever ," television special (first broadcast on NBC on May 16, 1983).  Five previously-unreleased tracks include a Kanye West remix of " Billie Jean "; a new 2008 version of " Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin " with Akon and will.i.am remixes of " The Girl Is Mine " and " P.Y.T ."; and " For All Time ," a rare unreleased cut form the original " Thriller " recording sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Michael Jackson .  Additional bonus material on the " Thriller -25 th Anniversary Edition " includes " Someone In the Dark ," " Carousel ," and Jackson’s original demo recording of " Billie Jean ."  The new packaging features a personal greeting from Michael Jackson to his fans penned exclusively for this special release. 

You can look forward to the first list on my column.  Last year I asked a number of my readers to rank individuals that had appeared in " Obnoxious " for good or bad reasons.  However, something within me would not allow me to release a list actually ranking people that include people that I did not agree should actually be on my list, while not wanting to be the person to make that decision I could not in good conscience release my list.  As a result, I might release two lists this year, but I have to talk about a few lists that did strike me as I decide what direction I want to take with my " Obnoxious " list.  The first list that comes to mind was in " The Hollywood Reporter " of the highest paid actresses, while the " New York Daily News " ranks the 50 smartest celebrities and " Entertainment Weekly " rounds up the " 50 Dumbest People In Hollywood ."  Starting with the dumbest, Lindsay Lohan toped the list that also includes Kim Kardashian at No. 2, Michael Jackson at No. 19, Isaiah Washington at No. 27, Nicole Richie at 33, and Shar Jackson at No. 39.  On the opposite end of the intelligence spectrum, " Entertainment Weekly " put director/writer/producer Judd Apatow first on a list of smart individuals that includes Will Smith at No. 5, Tyler Perry at No. 8, and Zahara’s mother, Angelina Jolie at No. 3.  Jolie is the second richest actress in Tinseltown according to the " Hollywood Reporter " annual tally.  Her $18 million-per-movie rate is beaten only by Reese Witherspoon , who commands $15 million to $20 million per film.  It is unfathomable that Halle Berry , and Academy Award Winner is raked No. 10 with a request of $10 million per film. 

Montel Williams had a little situation in Savannah, GA one Friday with reporters from the Savanna Morning-News who claim the talk show host, who’s show has been recently cancelled, threatened them following an angry confrontation.  According to some of my friends at the Savannah Morning-News , Williams was at a hotel promoting a program that gives free prescriptions to people in need.  He became upset with one of the questions and terminated the interview.  When the Savannah Morning-News reporters later returned to the hotel for an unrelated assignment, he approached one of them--high school student Courtney Scott, an intern at the newspaper.  "As we were preparing to film, Montel walked up with his bodyguard and got in Courtney Scott’s face pointing his finger telling her ’Don’t look at me like that.  Do you know who I am? I’m a big star, and I can look you up find where you live and blow you up,’" said Joseph Cosey, a web content producer for the newspaper.  "At this time he was randomly pointing at all of us."  Scott said she had no idea how to take Montel’s comment.  "I’m not sure if he mean ’blow me up’ and ruin my career or really blow us up, but it was threatening," Scott said.  Williams , a patient advocate sine being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, later apologized for the tirade.  "I mistakenly thought the reporter and photographer in question were at the hotel to confront me about some earlier comments," Williams said in a statement.  "I was wrong, and I apologize for my overreaction."  The earlier interview ended after Scott asked Williams :  "Do you think pharmaceutical companies would be discouraged from research and development if their profits were restricted?"  According to my sources, Montel reacted angrily, saying:  "I’m trying to figure out exactly why you are here and what the interview is about.  I’m here as a patient advocate talking about the fact that medications available today are saving people’s lives, that’s what’s saving mine and after that, this interview is done."  Montel might have just got the news that his show had been given the ax and took it out on the reporters. 

.. To say that I was disappointed in Nas would not be enough!  This is a guy normally does something in rap music that you do not often hear and he has recorded some awesome material in the past.  However, it is nothing that he can so on a album entitled " Nigger " that can be good.  Recently the rapper sat down with MTV News reporters to discuss the content of his upcoming album " Nigger ," that will be released in February.  "I have a son called ’ The Fear ,’" he said.  " The full title of the is ’The Fear of the Black Man’s Dick .’  That some shit you can get comedy from, or you can get some seriousness form it when you talk about the barbaric castrations that happen in our past--which is very serious, nothing to laugh at."  Nas stressed that his album will be balanced, and the title doesn’t target one particular race.  "It’s not an attack on white people at all," he told MTV. "It’s knowledge; it’s understanding for all people.  It’s not and attack on any race."  "It’s about the attacks that have happened to blacks, whites, all ethnicities," he continued.  " ’Mick’ niggers, ’guinea’ niggers, ’kike’ niggers .  I have a song called ’ You a Nigger Too .’"  "It’s all over the place," he added.  "Balance is so important because there’s a fun level to the album too.  There’s an attractive, sexy, aspect to it; a stylish aspect, a flashy aspect.  It takes negatives and makes them good."  Well, I am not sure if Nas has fallen and bumped his head or if he was high due the idiotic remarks he made on MTV, but there is no way to take the word Nigger and make it a positive.  It is absolutely repulsive, careless, reprehensible, and despicable for his to make an album with that word as the title.  Data shows that more white suburban children purchase rap music far more than African American children and they just might now think they have received a pass card to use the word.   Since Nas like the word so much he should leally change his name to Nigger, case that is just what he is acting like.

No matter how rich you are you cannot take your stuff with you.  Seems that Luther Vandross either had some much that his family did not want these items or they are not in control of a number of his personal goods due his goods heading to the auction block.  Fans of the late singer will get a chance to bid on more than 1,000 items from his former home is Beverly Hills, CA; Greenwich, CN; New York; as well as memorabilia from his tours, according to reports.  The lot that will be auctioned includes a Picasso charcoal drawing, diamond watches, Gucci and Versace mink coats, and crystal vases.  Handwritten lyrics to " Love Forgot "; the army green thermoses form which he sipped hot tea during his concerts; designer loafers and boots; Lalique crystal vases, glasses, and doorknobs are also for sale.  Max Szadek, Vandross’ personal assistant for 13 years, who is said to be the man that shouted and ran around Luther’s casket several times at his funeral, said that fans will get a glimpse into the private world experienced by the singer, who died in 2005 at 54.  "This mink-lines chair symbolized the lap of luxury that Luther lived in and just how a star, world-class entertainer, kind of lived it out in his private life, too," Szadek said as he walked through 13, 000 square feet of items displayed at an auction house in a suburban office park.   Also up for bid is a sliver Piaget diamond-encrusted watch, a sliver diamond-encrusted tennis bracelet and a 4-carat diamond ring.  Among the touring a music memorabilia on sale is a record from David Bowie’s " Young American ," on which Vandorss sang background, and a double platinum certification of " Dance With My Father ."  The collection is valued between $600,000 and $800,000, said John Nye, whose Morris Plains, N.J. based auction house, Dawson & Nye handled the sale.  I was not able to find out who made off with all the cash made form the Luther auction but if you are curious to see the items and what they sold for log on to www.DawsonandNye.com . 

The sister of hip hop producer Mannie Fresh , Angela Bryant, 42, was shot and killed Wednesday night in her Algiers, New Orleans home.  According to local TV affiliate WWLTV, Bryant’s body was discovered by police early Thursday morning. Authorities believe the murder took place between 10 p.m. and midnight. The mother’s two children, ages 2 and 7, were reportedly present during the incident but were not physically harmed.  Bryant’s black 1998 Lexus LS 400 with Louisiana license plate number PTF 205 went missing after the murder. Police are currently searching for the vehicle.  Bryant’’s husband - whom she wed last month, according to family members - was out of town when she was killed, but appeared visibly upset and distraught when he arrived at the scene just before noon, said police.  "We are still working on the motive of this," New Orleans Police Chief Warren Riley told reporters. "We have some limited information and limited information relative to leads at this time, but it’s still very early at this point."  "We’ve not drawn any conclusions. We’ve not made any elimination. As the day progresses, we hope to learn more, but it’s a work in progress," Assistant New Orleans Police Superintendent Marlon Defillo told WWLTV.  Police said they weren’t certain Bryant was familiar with her assailant but did state that there was no sign of forced entry into the home. On Thursday, forensics investigated Bryant’s residence.  The victim’s mother, Carrie St. Cyr told WWLTV that Bryant had celebrated her birthday with family on Wednesday evening.  Mannie Fresh , born Byron O. Thomas , is a Def Jam South Records producer and former Cash Money Records producer. A New Orleans native, he pioneered the "bounce" form of hip hop, notable for its use of heavy keyboards and bass guitars. He released his debut album " The Mind of Mannie Fresh " in 2004 and scored a recent hit with T.I.’s " Big Things Poppin’ ".  Fresh was reportedly on his way back to New Orleans from Texas.

Akon had to show his face in a New York’s Fishkill Town court in connection with a June 3 rd concert in which he allegedly threw a 15-year-old boy off the stage.  The 34-year-old singer was arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, according to the press release from Police Chief Donald Williams.  According to reports, Akon stopped his concert at Fishkill, New York-based WSPK’s annual K-FEST concert and demanded to know who had thrown and object onto the stage.  The audience pointed out the 15-year-old spectator, who was ushered onto the stage by security.  Akon then lifted him into the air and flung him back into the crowd.  The boy landed on Abby Rosa, who told the Pughkeepsie Journal that she suffered a concussion from the impact.  She said she hired a lawyer and spoke to Fishkill Police.  Seems that Akon might have to pay a hunk and a chuck for this foolish act, I am sure next time he will keep his hands to himself and just sing. 

Now is it me or is Reggie Bush a fool to want to be the boyfriend of Kim Kardishian , who should be getting that hunk and a chuck of money she stole from Ray-J and Brandy or their momma, is going to have the little whore put behind bars.  The deceased O.J. dream team attorney’s daughter charged over $100,000 on their American Express card and never paid it back after she promised too.  Now Reggie Bush is running around with this girl that is getting passed around like a good joint is claiming that he is in love with his new girlfriend, Kim .  Now check out Kim and Ray-J work it out and tell me if you think this is the type of female Reggie should be spending time with or do agree that Kim is just using Reggie to promote her new reality show and get some hot footage from the broke up football player.  If you ask me Reggie needs to get rid of her can focus on getting back out on the football field.  But you know what would be to much like right to expect a man to actually be capable of thinking with their head, the one above their waste that is.  However, Reggie is like most men that cannot keep their "Peter" in the gate.
