Jesse has long been known for his beautiful tenor voice, strong guitar accompaniment and critically acclaimed heartfelt lyrics. Jesse started in Greenwich Village with the likes of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. When the folk/rock movement grew, he moved his family and the Youngbloods to San Francisco during the Summer of Love, 1967. Naturally he became friends with the Grateful Dead, The Jefferson Starship and the Haight-Ashbury set. From there Jesse would play for weeks with the Youngbloods at LA's Whiskey A Go Go, where Janis Joplin, a true fan, would hang out in his dressing room listening to his music
From the tumultuous sixties to the seventies Jesse's career grew and he began to tour the arena circuit with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Led Zepplen, The Eagles, Doobie Brothers and Billy Joel. His style was more jazz -fusion rock and his theme was back to nature. He shared his musicians with Van Morrison who was also beginning to head in the same direction. The eighties was a more introspective time for Jesse as he watched the nuclear industry creating unsafe electricity so near to California's coast and it's earthquake fault lines. He saw a need to make California citizens aware of these dangers and after much frustration with the industry, he joined forces with Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, David Bromberg and Avocado Productions began the No Nukes movement through concerts. These were the first solar powered concerts ever played and a movie was released documenting the final concerts at Madison Square Gardens when the movement became national. Jesse has continued that musical path to this day, playing for earthquake victims, Vietnam Vets, Environmental issues and for children's needs.
For these 3 dates Jesse will be joined by his wife and Aiken native, Connie Darden-Young, on violin, NYC bass player, Mike Frost; Augusta native, Michael West on drums and Vito Truglio, of Hawaii fame, on rhythm guitar. Expect some old favorites to be played: Ridgetop, T Bone Shuffle, Sunlight, Get Together, Song for Julie and Darkness, Darkness, as well of some new material, Carolina, Walk the Talk ,and Bring 'Em Home. Jesse's songs are available on all the major commercial download companies such as ITunes, Napster, Amazon and more, as well as through disc.
