Hello and welcome to the first real blog or happening of 2009. On appearance, 2009 has been very quiet for us Carnabetians. Behind the scenes it has been hectic and exciting as any other period.

At the turn of the year, the band parted company with Kev Evans on guitar leaving it as just a Fab Four again. So with myself, and two long serving members Paul Iliffe and Luke Headland, we move onwards knowing that this year is vital for us. Fortunately for us, Mr Chris Featonby decided to return to the fray some 2 or so years after initially leaving us here in 1966 all on our own.

But what a timely return for the young sticksman. Recording was penned in, songs were re-worked, tweaked and even new ones written (see video's such as Sycamore Street for example) and with that we embarked on finding the studio to help make these dreams come true.

Now how lucky we were, we know only too well. Valve Studio in Mytholmroyd just outside Hebden Bridge is the most magical place we've had the fortune of falling into. Hebden itself has nice bars, picturesque hillsides and the nicest folks we've met this side of our alter-ego's and all in all, its been a pleasure to work there.

A combined spell of ten days hooking up with producer Andy Bell (coldasafrog.com) and studio owner Des Horsfall have seen us create a 14 track LP that will blow folks minds if you are of the 1960-something persuasion.

So there you have it, we are busy. Rock 'n' rolling, loving and reeling in the isles, The Carnabys are looking to the remainder of 2009 with such excitement. Releasing an album, playing the Cavern at IPO Festival, playing on a Boat in our town and blasting our masterpiece out to all those clever enough to visit us.

You've gotta dig it man. Anyway, some of the initial demo's of these tracks can be heard on the old Myspace and if you come to a gig sometime soon, pick up one of our preview CD's for the album for just a few English pounds.

Much love, peace, rattle 'n' roll to one and all.

Oh...and looks like I'm playing the old rusty strings now.
