Hey. Sup? I suppose by now you're noticing some changes going around with the site here, some that I have yet the time or strength to explain right now. Let's just say, God is moving in ways I can't even begin to fathom. Confidentially, I'm not even 100% certain of all the changes He's having with this ministry, but I'm riding this to the end and I'm up to the tasks!

Donations 2 Death2Self!
Well, lookie here: We have a donations button! We must be thinking about money! Well, I'll be honest, I've always steered clear from the whole money topic for the last four years because I never wanted to give the impression that Death2Self is one of those ministries that is only concerned about scoring the big bucks, making mediocre music and living only half-heartedly for God.

I suppose that affected some bad business choices in the past, hitting bump after bump and shelling out thousands from my own cash to support things like D2S FEST and the subscriptions I have to our online store, web server and the likes! What brings me to this point however, is actually due to good news!

The good news is, I can't afford to keep running Death2Self Records anymore! And yes, that's actually good news, because the aspirations for our annual show, D2S FEST has been so incredible that it requires a bigger budget to satisfy the needs for this outreach event!

But what about after D2S FEST? What are our plans with the donations submitted?

Well, my wife and I are truly the heads behind the label now, and what we're attempting to do is to open a business account that is strictly related to Death2Self finances. We're working on building an internal volunteer staff that will help to regulate several of our properties, including help in handling and budgeting our finances. We're also looking to get a non-profit license.

This is among other plans we have, such as saving up for a house and building an office / sound booth with professional equipment for our artists to be able to use whenever we schedule some personal time with them.

I know this all sounds crazy. We may need to take a business loan just to accomplish this, but none of this is going to happen until the appointed time set by our Lord. Yes, we want Death2Self to move to the next level and to appeal to more people, but without the Father's anointing over these plans, we absolutely will not move a foot. We're praying so much over these plans, but we feel that we're in a position where we can start to honor our dedicated labelmates more, and to invest more in their ministries as well as our own (SA and Brittny).

So it all STARTS with THIS!
We have a donations button on our homepage. There's no gimmicks, no prizes to be awarded. We're just opening the venue asking for generous donations from anyone willing to truly show their support. We understand not all supporters are able to donate, and that's fine! We would never press the money issue on anyone. We simply understand that what comes next will require some financial backing, and we pray that if God wants this to be, we will see the outcome.

WHAT am I SUPPORTING with MY Donation?
Your donations would go to Death2Self Records. But what if you never heard of Death2Self Records before? Okay, that's fair. I'll quickly lay it down for you:

Death2Self Records was established in 2004 as a response to the insurmountable portion of hip-hop and even holy hip-hop artists who are misled by the devils of fame, fortune, and personal validation with a pearly status quo. What this means is, the devil can manipulate anyone, and it appears that with music, the devil has been successful in making both secular and Christian artists fall into the "pride trap". With the Christian artist, this trap makes them forget more about the selfless act of being a servant through their music and makes them more concerned with being popular, focusing more on the skill and not the ministry.

Jason Torres AKA Spiritually Anointed (SA), the CEO of Death2Self Records hopes that his ministry will forever be a mark in the music world as one that promotes serving one another, never thinking more of the individual, but boasting in unity in Christ's name. For the fans, SA's heart is with the struggling youth who faces more problems now than any generation before them.

Hip-hop has been seen as form of demonic glorification of earthly things. SA promotes taking what the devil stole and turning it back to Christ.

We will be able to provide our labelmates with the tools and attention they deserve, and you can help to make this dream of unity in Christ through this ministry, come to life.
