Creating a Zombie in Photoshop

Art and Photography
Ok, so here is one way that I'll create my art. I don't use this style all the time, and I dont remember all the details...My main suggestion would be to experiment with photoshop after you pull a couple bong hits.
First you need a blueprint. I didnt draw this reference image at the time. I try to draw my own now...but really, we're using it strictly as a reference.
Now, you need a huge library of textures. They're all over the net. I start by finding pieces that resemble the facial features.
Now I'm going to start giving the textures some color. I start in black and white because it's always easier to add color later. Image>adjust>color balance.
I created the background basically the same way. A lot of layering of textures and playing with the blending options and using color balance to give it the overall red hue.
After i have the background i put the two together and start meshing them together and working out a few details.
And the final image...

Not sure what you're doing... are you just painting over the original blue print?

Im just copying and pasting pieces of photos and textures over the reference image. I use the layer blending options constantly to get a smooth looking transition.
