Current mood: anxious
I just found out Sunday that I was named a top 10 Candidate for Alltel Wireless "My Own Game" contest. Alltel Wireless is doing a competition for students at 12 universities across the US and the candidates had to submit 2 essays (50 words and 500 words). The essays were then judge by a team from a private company, and the top 10 were named. I am one of them from my school!
The way it works is that all of the contestants from UNM are competing against each other to see who can get the most votes. This Saturday, September 16th, we will be campaigning at our football game. The person who gets the most votes in the first 24 hours (3:30 MTN on the 16th to 3:30 MTN on the 17th) gets $1000 right off the bat! Alltel will be providing me with a "campaign manager" and all of my campaign materials. Voting will continue all week until the following Friday. The winner of the competition as a whole will get a Home Football game named after them, and also will recieve a 42 inch plasma TV and other prizes!
The coolest part about it is that the people that vote (hopefull yall) will also be entered to win some cool prizes (cell phones with service, MP3 Players, TV's, Video Cameras).
Starting on the 16th, there will be 3 ways to vote! 1) If you have an Alltel Wireless cell phone you can text to 123456 my contestant .. (I will let you guys that voice an interest when I find out).
2) You can go to www.alltelvote.com and vote.
3) If you live in Albuquerque and are attending the Saturday night game vs. the Missouri Tigers, you can vote with my campaign manager.
What I am asking yall is to possibly help me out with votes, or help me out with campaigning.
Please tell all of your friends/family about this and each person can vote up to 2000 times!!!!
Please let me know if you are interested in helping any anyway! I would definatley appreciate it!
