So I just got back from a quick trip to Athens on a Monday evening. Jason had asked cellist Heather McIntosh if she could play on a track where we were wanting some choice cello action.  She lives in NYC, but lucky for me she was in town having just returned from a European tour with Elf Power.  She put down a lovely part -- it will make you cry.  Well, maybe not YOU, but someone out there will definitely get teary.

A week ago I went to record for three days straight to get a chunk of work done before Jason goes on tour with the Late B.P. Helium.  The lovely and talented Kay Stanton stepped in on bass for a track, which sounds great.  I am incredibly fortunate to have such good artists contributing to the record.  Plus it's fun.  Monday night we didn't work in the studio since Casper and the Cookies had a show at the Secret Squirrel (last of five bands - yikes).  It was a long night, but I got to see their new line-up (not that new, but new for me), which is rockin'.  A Huntsville band, Thomas Function, was crashing at Jason and Kay's that night, and when they left early in the a.m. I think they scraped my car -- a little blue paint on my back bumper.  Hmmmm . . . oh well.  Boys from Alabama have been know to do a lot more damage than that.

After Jason gets back from the BP tour he and Kay will be getting ready for Casper's CD release adn upcoming tour, so it may be a couple of months before I can book another session at Bel Air Studio.  At this point the record is about half done.  Yea!
