Batton here: This Sunday, November 25, The Comic Bug, a Los Angeles-area store is celebrating its grand reopening (following a fire that destroyed the previous store) at its new location in Manhattan Beach by sponsoring a screening of Chris Brandt's documentary Independents: A Documentary Guide for the Creative Spirit. Among the 24 creators and publishers interviewed in the film are Tony Millionaire, Craig Thompson, Linda Medley, Shannon Wheeler, Carla Speed McNeill, Eric Powell, Jim Woodring, Wendy Pini, Scott McCloud, Jessica Abel, Gary Groth, Dan Vado, Comic Bug manager and comics writer Mike Wellman and, yes, yours truly! I'll be signing at the event, along with Wendy Pini and Wellman. Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m., and the screening is at 5:00. The Comic Bug is at 807 1/2 Manhattan Beach Blvd (three miles from the Rosecrans exit off the 405) in Manhattan Beach, CA. Hope to see you there!
