I've never uderstood why some people put the most expensive gas in their car but have no problem driving to Mc-donalds to put toxic waste in their bodies. You can buy a new car or trade it in for a new model but this body you're stuck with until you die so I think putting the best products in your body is a smarter way to go.
1st law of a health nut- Drink water.
I'm not kidding people this is one of the most important things you can do. Water is necessary for just about everything your cells do. Ideally you should drink no less than half of your body weight in ounces a day. For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces of water a day. That's about a liter and a half. Try to drink water from glass bottles alone. That rule goes for any types of foods. What you eat should never be stored in plastic. Plastic leaks inorganic materials into your food. Many European brands of water use glass bottles, like Voss, pana, pelligrino, Evian... many are stored in glass bottles. Trader Joe's is a great place to get them by the case. You can also order online.
2nd Law of the Health nut- Eat organic and organic alone
Foods should come from reliable organic or certified organic sources. Use of the word Organic is not regulated, therefore it can be used by anyone at will and therefore it has no meaning. Certified organic is highly regulated and has to meet certain standards in order to carry the designation. Certified organic standards are different in each country, with places like Chili and Mexico having lower standards than the United States and Canada. Personally I avoid organic produce from Mexico. Almighty god money is what we worship in this country, you can almost always make your voice heard through the amount of money you spend or do not spend on a product.
3rd Law of the Health nut Get rid of all of your aluminum pots and Tefflon!!!!
Do not cook your foods in aluminum pots. You must purchase stainless steel pots. Stainless steel does not leak inorganic materials in your food and is safe to cook with. Cooking in aluminum is dangerous to your health!!!Aluminum has been linked with alzheimers disease etc. These metals do not belong in your body, they cause numerous complications. Some we know of, many we don't.
4th law of health nut- Do not use conventional body care. This includes deodorants or anti-perspirants
Anti-perspirants especially, but many deodorants contain aluminum and a bunch of other chemicals that do not belong in your body. Read the ingredients. Your skin is a living breathing organ and what you put on it often ends up in your bloodstream/body, eventually storing themselves in your organs... and brain. Aluminum loves to settle itself in your brain. Alziehmer's disease patients tend to have high levels of aluminum in their brain. Use alternative deodorants like Toms of Maine, Alba...etc. wholefoods market, Trader Joe's, Erewhon, Wild oats, Nature's mart and other health food stores contain several brands. You may have to experiment to find something that works. In the meantime drink lots of water.
Pay very close attention to your skin-care products... soaps, toothpaste, bath/shower gels, skin scrubs etc. Make sure you read the ingredients because words like natural don't mean diddley squat. The word natural is not regulated by the FDA and can be used by anyone at will also.
I'm getting to the point where if I can't eat it I won't put it on my skin. Get acquainted with natural moisturizers like organic cold pressed coconut oil, almond oil, Natural toothpaste... Tom's of Maine (my personal favorite) There are several other brands. Try many until you find one that you like.
Fifth law of healthnut eat organic- grass fed, free-range meats only and animals eating their natural diets. Avoid especially grain- fed cows... they should be fed grass. By doing so, you will avoid hormones and anti-biotics pumped into our cattle on a regular basis. The hormones and anti-biotics do end up in our bodies... that's been tested and proven.
With tons of hormones injected into beef and veal cattle, many of these hormones end up in farm run-off, in the form of solid and liquid waste. Sanitary waste treatment is seldom found on factory farms, and many farms simply have waste settling ponds that are easily flooded. Hormones can then flow into nearby rivers and streams, as well as into underground aquifers, eventually ending up in drinking water.
In order for our water supply to remain clean it's our duty to eat meats that don't contribute to this problem.
7th Law of the healthnut
Do not microwave foods....learn to love your oven. It takes a little longer but you will not be exposed to dead, irradiated food which have the potential to mutate your cells.
when you eat out a lot at restaurants, consider often times they use microwaves.
8th law of the health-nut Give up over the counter medicines gradually. Mydol, tylenol, advil... bad bad bad... what can I say. Constantly numbing your troubleshoot system does not cure or fix the problem... Learn to respect your body, sleep at the right time and get enough exercise, drink water and eat a proper diet, You'll be able to avoid many common ailments such headaches, insomnia, requiring over the counter medicines.
9th Law of the health-nut Say goodbye to conventional cleaning products... Ajax, regular detergents like Tide, Gain, etc... Containing harsh chemicals. Say hello to environmentally friendly washing detergents like Ecos and others from your local health food store. Harsh cleaning products with so many unnecessary chemicals end up somewhere. Your pots and pans can be cleaned with a natural dishwashing detergent and baking soda, your tub and bathroom in general for that matter. All of these things are available at your local health food store.
If you have a housekeeper who does your cleaning, you may want to ask her/him what kinds of products she uses to clean your house/apt with. Go to your local health food store and switch for something more natural.
Express to him/her you no longer want your home cleaned with these harsh cleaning products.
11th law of the healthnut... all of the money you'll be saving on all that crap donate it to reputable charities. Remember the best charity you can give is your time. I learned this one from my amazing mother. Spend an hour a day helping someone.
Hence why I spend my precious time writing and sending you all this information.
I wish for all of you good health, happiness, inner beauty and longevity.
