Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, February 25, 2008
Since this happens very often, I am adopting new guidelines, or rather stating them publicly:

1. If your profile is anonymous and you're sending me a friend request, please send me a note with it introducing yourself. If I can't see your profile and don't know you, why would I want to be a friend?

2. Likewise if you are new to the site, and we have no friends in common, as these are most often accounts set up to spam people.

3. If you are a band with 10,000, 20,000, etc. friends, likewise, I want to know why you want to add me. If you like my music, great, but I'm not interested in just helping you increase your friend count.

4. If you post a comment advertising something of yours (your page, website, a show, etc.), it will be deleted, whether I know you or not. That's what your page is for, not mine, or use the bulletins. If it's a project we're working on together, that's fine.

5. If you post spam in the comments, you will be reported, blocked, and removed from my friend list. If you are a genuine friend whose account has been hacked, please write to me and tell me, and we can "re-friend" each other.

6. I have also disabled pictures in the comment section, as they slow down page loads, and, anyway, I don't need glittering teddy bears and fairies telling me to have a nice day. If you post these regardless, what I get is a comment full of html code that I will just delete, and it tells me you weren't paying attention when told (as you posted) that "this user has disabled pictures." Comments, on the other hand, are great, and that's what they mean - write something!

Thank you for your attention!
Tempest

I have no idea where to get those glittery pictures, but suddenly I have the urge to find one of a bunny and post it on your page ;)))))

And it will turn into nothing but text code, and the magic will be lost...

I'm afraid to even write something here... Will you break my heart by deleting this comment?

Now why would I do that?

It's a written comment, and a perfectly good one! :-D
