I have to stop everything.
Right now, sitting on my project box is a minimum of 2 customization jobs, one of which is going to be new and therefore require alot of experimentation, a profiled and convex ground "Nessmuk" fixed blade that just needs to get some higher grit finishing, then into the forge for the fire and smoke part of the job, and I've got a few folks who have contacted me for work that I want to get started on as well.
Why do I have to put all this on hold? for the last few years I get these tendon/wrist flare ups. If I take it easy for a few days, I'm fine. Not the case this time. For the last month I've been in increasing pain, which OTC meds just can't touch anymore. I even splinted up and took a few days off work, to see if that helped (It didn't). A trip to the doc, and it's confirmed I've really got some issues with (at least) the two tendons in my thumb.
During the day I'm quasi-functional at work thanks in part to a prescription and pretty much complete imobilization of my wrist via splint. At home I was told to lay off using it all together.
It's been almost two weeks of the above. pretty much 0 improvement. Depending on what happens with my next appointment, I might be looking at surgery. who knows how long that will have me out of commission.
Not a happy camper right now, not at all.
