Current mood:  touched
As I sit here in humility thinking of the recent loss of my dear friend I become struck with a realization. Each and every one of us was made with a predestined plan, with work yet unfinished. We were all created to glorify God and to touch lives around us. We were each blessed with different gifts to share with the world. There are so many lives that you randomly touch on a daily basis you probably aren’t even aware of. Whether you’d like to admit it or not your life has an impact on many people. How are you using it?

When you know God it’s like being hit with a sledge hammer every now and then. He never lets you get too far off track before He brings you back to Him. And let me tell you, He’s brought me back kicking and screaming more times than not. I’m not sure why things happen the way they do but I trust unwittingly. I believe that God is the master weaver and his hand is involved in everything....even if it seems unfathomable and unfair; He is in control.

I just think we all need to take an inner look. I know I do. How can we help others around us? What is your gift and how are you using it? When I think of my friend Yvette (I called her Evie) who passed over the weekend I think of just how blessed my life is for having known her. She changed my perspective on many things and helped me to understand that life is worth taking risks, loving unconditionally, and always pressing forward. Because when our work is done here on earth each and every one of us will leave a legacy behind. Don’t waste your gifts here; there are too many people who can benefit from them now. So shine on!

I am so sorry for your loss Jodie. When a dear friend passes away they take our love for them directly to God. I'm sure by now He has heard alot about you from Yvette. I will truly keep you and Yvette in my prayers. God Bless.

So truly sorry for your loss. I too am going through a loss. We lost my step dad on the 14th unexpectedly to a heart attach. My mom is now alone and my heart aches for her. I never realized how much i appriciated the things that my SD has done for not only my mom but for our whole family and all the ppl/friends that have come into his life. I have been crying almost everyday! I wish i had told him how much i appriciated him while he was here. I did but didn't......I started an online memorial page for my SD for all friends and family to go and write to him, lite a candle, view pictures etc. It was a part of my grieving to set this up...since he was cremated and we really have no where to go visit him. I really like the way that you have expressed your self...i feel like i REALLY conected to what you wrote.

Again, sorry for your loss....i don't know what happened to your friend but i pray for her to watch over you all and to give you strenght to carry on.

Hugs!!!!

A sweet lady from church one told me I have the gift of compassion. That Must be why I work with the mentally ill. I influence my clients everyday!!!! I mostly try to make them laugh, but most importantly I listen to them because it seems no one else does.
:(

This was a great blog Jodi. So very true!!!! How blessed you are to have known Evie and learned so much from her.
Be blessed Jodi!!!! xoxox Truly Julie

Dear Diva Rae

Jodie, your faith is SO inspiring.

I am so happy that you were blessed with Evie's friendship, and I know her spirit will continue to touch your life here on earth.
How amazing is our God that you will be reunited with her for eternity one day!!!

I loved this blog. Your words are so true. Reading this reaffirmed the belief in my heart that God never deserts us, and He always wants what it best for us.
I know that I have a long way to go to live my very best life, but its friends like you who have touched my life in such a real way that I am continually encouraged to keep the fire burning!

Love,

Chrissy

I agree with you about God hitting us with a sledge hammer. I heard it best said that first God will talk to us in that still small voice and then when we don't listen He will then begin to speak to us louder. If we eventually don't listen He has no choice but to put a big brick wall in front of us and say slow down and listen to what I am saying. It's just sad that too often we miss that still small voice and it takes so much more to pull us back. But He says that He will leave that large flock to get that lost sheep! I am so thankful for it because too many times I have gone off on my own and needed herded back in. And I am sorry for your loss, you will be in my prayers.

Much love,
Rebecca
