Hello from Switzerland! We thought it would be a good idea to update you with the latest news and happenings from Fribo world.

2009 has been good to us starting at Celtic Connections we created the first ever Nu-Nordic Night showcasing some of the talented people working across the north sea (see reviews in other blog).

May then brought us a really fun gig in the fruitmarket gallery in Glasgow, our last show with Paul Jennings for a while as he has moved over to Canada.

In April we drove over to tour in Germany, Sweden and Denmark, this was mostly organised by the lovely Eugene Graham our agent in Denmark and we played a wide variety of gigs from a mad bar in Christiania to a busy hall in the north.

Perhaps one highlight was playing in Oxencro, a lovely island just on the Danish/German border, no cars there you have to take all your gear on the ferry, magic!

At the end of the month we we happy to take part in the first ever Leith Routes Festival as organised by the guys at Leith Folk Club, a week of non-stop music in the Village Bar in suuny Leith.

In July we headed down to London and played at the City of London festival in Guildhall Yards, one of the hottest gigs we have played so far, was good to see the boys from top Orkney band 'The Chair' were also playing that night.

We then went over to Sweden for 10 days to be looked after by the fantastic Göran Berg from Musik i Vest, real summer tour starting with a big show at Sweden's largest folk festival called Korrö where our show was broadcast live on Swedish radio!

We played in many beautiful Swedish places inc: Astol Island (amazing restaurant!) and one night after our gig had to row across a lake to find our accommodation in a beautiful mountain cabin hidden away by the shore, no electricity only candles and wood, much swimming was had and a cosy fire in the evening.

A week after we got back from Sweden we played at the Mull of Kintyre Festival where we shared a bill with the amazing Dervish who had driven all the way from Sligo that day!

Now it's time to plan out 2010, we are in discussions with a Norwegian label about our second album and hope to release in May, we have another Danish tour and a visit to Baltica Festival to look forward to in April followed by tours of Ireland and hopefully Canada also, we'll keep you posted when we hear more news!
