This afternoon Erik and I drove down to New Braunfels to go to the African safari place next to Natural Bridge Caverns.  I hadn't been there since probably 1995 or something when my family went.

It was so amazing!  There were all kinds of wild deer-like things roaming around, bison, gazelles, wildebeasts, zebras, ostriches, and a number of other horned things I didn't know the names of.  They hung out by the sides of the road, so it was really easy to drive up close and take pictures and feed them.  I might try to get some of the better pictures up here soon.

The funnest part though was hanging out with the zebras.  They liked to stick their heads in the car and see what we were up to.  Erik and I had two bags of feed that we were giving to them, and at one point this zebra shoved its head into the car on Erik's side and grabbed his paper feedbag and got the heck outta there.  It all happened so fast, and it was a little scary, but man was it awesome.

The ostriches were the creepiest though, which I remembered from my family's trip way back when when they stuck their heads in the window.  This time, one got REALLY close to my open window and was eyeing me with those scary bird eyes like he wanted to peck my face off.

But yeah...keep an eye out for pictures!  Hopefully soon!

Oh God, I remember those Ostriches.

"HEY GUISE WATS UR VAN DOIN IN MY SAFARI LAND?! IMMA STICKIN MY HEAD IN UR WINDOWz! OH YOU GOT KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT? MY NECK CAN FUCKIN REACH THOSE KIDS, I'M GOIN FOR YOUR KIDS.
"

Now, I was a cold blooded killer even at the tender age of 8 and I'll still never forget the look of MALICE in that bird's eyes.

The difference in our battle experience.

His aura that screamed "I am a bird that is going to kill you".

How long do ostriches live I wonder...because that's the exact kind of aura-scream I got from THIS one. D8 Dun dun duuuuuuuun.

Ostriches live as long as they choose to. They pluck out the eyes of anyone that glances at them with disrespect. I have no doubt the ostrich you met was the same one from years ago, returning to finish the job. He was gunning for one of us in that back seat, 10 years ago - turns out it was you. No need to sweat it though - I'll handle this little bird problem with one hand tied behind my back for the right price. You pay me well enough, and that Ostrich will go up on a cross. Besides...I have my OWN debt to settle with that monster.
