About the Film
Desperate Decisions is a romantic drama set in rural Jamaica. Patrick
is struggling to make something of his life without support from family, which
he hasn’t got. Just at the time he is getting tired of the extortion-like
behaviour of his Rose (his child’s mother), he begins to search for a deeper
meaning and purpose in life. During this transition he meets Verona and the two
turn up the ‘heat’ on each other. Little did they know that this would be the
beginning of the most tumultuous chapter in their lives.
Patrick allows his anger to get the better of him during a provocation from
his former girlfriend’s boyfriend and this forces him to flee to Kingston
without a glimmer of hope as to what will happen to him. He however, has big
dreams of setting up a business. While Patrick is in Kingston trying to eke out
a living, Verona is left to navigate the wrath of her parents due to their
vehement reaction to her love for Patrick.
Desperate Decisions is not only about making desperate decisions, it is
also a story about determination, loyalty and astute resilience.
Desperate Decisions is an El Shadai movie produced by Kamall McLean while
screenplay and directing are the responsibilities of Paul O. Beale. The lead
roles are shared by Martin Clarke and Verona Francis while Rosemarie Murray,
Winston ‘Bello’ Bell and Owen Ellis provide very strong support. The principal
location for the movie is Manchester while Portland, Kingston, St. Catherine and
St. Andrew provided other
