About Summer TourLive Offensively Summer TourLive Offensively Summer Tour 2008..
This summer was undoubtedly the best three months of my life. I have
never had such an adventure. When the trip ended I walked away with
stories, wisdom, scars, and some of the best friends I'll ever have. My
sense of danger and fearlessness was pushed into higher levels, and I
learned things about myself I couldn't have discovered on my own. I can
only hope that I'll ever have a better time.
The festivals were incredible. You meet so many new people and there
are tons of opportunities to share what you believe. Not everybody takes to
the Live Offensively message, but I guess not all were chosen for the front
lines. I guess one of the highlights of all the festivals would have to be
at Alive fest. That week, from our booth, we got to see two girls give
their lives to Christ. There was also a girl who came to us in tears, and
told us that because of our "Cupcakes for Life" campaign she had
completely changed her mind about abortion. These were just a few examples
of the things that God blessed us with this summer.
The shirts we sell definitely stir up a lot of attention. The
controversy brings excitement and opportunity. It was awesome to watch Joe
debate everybody from evolutionists to homosexuals. I would always drop
whatever I was doing when a debate was going on, because I knew there was a
lot for me to learn in the area. One of the things I noticed most in these
times was that Joe handled every debate with respect for the other person
and the people who he dialoged with would continue to come back for more.
You tend to make a lot of friends over the course of a few festivals,
because you see so many of the same vendors. It was sort of like a big
traveling community. Except for a few gossipers this part of the summer was
very positive. I was stretched to my absolute limit in so many ways and I
can honestly say the tour changed my life.
