New Album

The new album will be recorded in late July at Dougie MacLean's Butterstone Studio.  We are currently working on the material for it, which will be in a similar vein to our previous 3 albums in terms of concentrating on Scots song but with a smattering of Irish and contemporary material with a few sets of tunes thrown in for the hell of it!

Jaunts in June

From 3rd until 8th June we will be in Denmark for three shows.  After performances in Stursbol and Tonder we will be at Halkaer Festival.  It will be great to be back in Denmark; Steve and Mark are the only remnants from the line-up that played Tonder Festival in 2000, so it promises to be a fun first trip to Denmark for the rest of the guys.

On 21st June we will be playing at Teignmouth Festival.  We've played in the "deep south" of England often enough to know that although it's a long way to go, the weather is usually very good!  Not to go reinforcing tired old stereotypes or anything, but we're hoping to get our hands on some good cider while we're down there.

Back across the Pond

Yes, we're doing our bit for global carbon emissions by returning to the USA for a 2 week tour.

First up, we have three days at Old Songs Festival in Altamont, NY.  This will be a great opportunity to catch up with some of the folks we met when we played in Voorheesville in January.

On July 1st we will be in Rangeley, Maine for a show at the New England Celtic Association.  Presumably this is "Celtic" with a hard C, not a far-flung supporters club of a well known Glasgow football team.  It's doubtful if we could do "The Fields of Athenry" all the way through.

We stay in the Pine Tree State for gigs in Dixfield on 2nd July and Portland on the 3rd.  We're very much looking forward to spending the 4th July holiday in Massachusetts.  Hopefully, it will be a bit like a rowdy version of St Patrick's Day, but without the green Guinness!

On 5th and 6th July we will be at Summerfest in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  We're assuming that the festival runs over 2 days as everyone will be too hung over to come out on the first day.  Hopefully a few hardy souls will make it to the first show.  We'll keep the volume down in case of sore heads.

Our USA tour finishes with a show in Harrisburg, PA on the 10th July.  Last time we were in Pennsylvania it was -11 degrees.  Let's hope for better weather next time around!

In Scotland again

Bookending our recording session, we have a gig at the Aros Centre in Portree on 17th July and also at Crail Festival in Fife on the 24th.  More details for all our gigs are on our website.
