Thrasher Skate and Destroy is a classic game, but since it came out after the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater no one really knew that it existed.Almost all the moves people thought were so unique and innovative in the Tony hawk series of games Skate and Destroy did them first and its made by Rockstar games most notably famous for there Grand Theft Auto series of games.

      The game was more of a skateboarding sim where the THPS series has always been more of an arcade style.This game plays alot of attention to detail such as grinds in the THPS games you pick up speed when you grind and every skateboarder knows that the exact opposite happens.
 one of the most innovative parts about the game is that you actually get chased out of spots by the police and on the Venice Beach level you get chased by a mugger whos trying to hit you with a piece of wood with a nail in it as he tries to rob you and take your board.The game has one of the best hip hop soundtracks of all time with songs to skate to like A Tribe called Quest's "Award Tour",Gangstarr's "Just to Get a Rep",and other classic songs.

   Rockstar had a big hit on there hands and were supposed to release a sequel,but for some reason it never came out.Rockstar has seen alot of success with their GTA series.The last THPS game American Wasteland took the idea of having one big city for you to skate in from the GTA series.Having one big city to skate in would be perfect for a sequel to TS&D and who better to do an open no load necessary enviornment than Rockstar games....If you can find a copy of Thrasher Skate and Destroy for the Playstation 1 dont hesitate pick it up immediately and see for yourself
