True heads
will testify that hip-hop is not just a type of music, but a way of
life: a way to think, create, and exist. There’s no stopping this
movement to rejuvenate the music and there’s definitely no stopping
college graduate, recording engineer, DJ, lyricist, and beat-maker,
Brother Shadrach.
With a Lancaster Jethawks fitted cap and a hoodie the
color of royalty, Shadrach is taking on the hip-hop world and
“restoring the essence” of what the culture was intended to be. His
smooth beats and dexterous lyrics are like nothing you have ever heard
before. They’ll take you into his ever-sober soul filled with passion,
philosophies, and his campaign for a drama-free life. He prides himself
on staying real, down to earth, and never forgetting his roots.
Shadrach fell in love with the hip-hop (later than most) world after
hearing Little Brother’s the Listening. Starting at the age of 16, he
began writing and recording original songs using a computer microphone
and freeware in his parent’s living room in Palmdale, CA. He produced
his first album The Beginesis and made his debut to
the world as a Christian artist touring churches around the Antelope
Valley. His first full length album but limited quantity project, Shadrach:Beats for Everyone, was followed by his limited-time web release album One Man Show with
hits such as “Super Lady” and “A Common Feel”, his first collaboration
with Dusted Phoniks. Shadrach just released his new solo project Brother Shadrach, which is already getting an immense amount of positive feedback.
Although Shadrach loves the days when he can step away from the rest
of the world and immerse himself into his own music, he values getting
involved in an ever-growing network of local rappers in California. He
has teamed up with such acts as Dusted Phoniks, producing multiple
tracks on their album 180 Miles. Shadrach was the Executive Producer for Eye-Que’s album Mainstream Underground as
well as collaborating with artists like Willdy Diamond, Lynguistix,
Alyriki, & Dirty Menace. He has also become a member of the hip-hop
duo, making a name for itself in across the West Coast, P.AND.A
(Perspire and Achieve who released their debut album Just Cubs in
the spring of 2009. Recently Shadrach made the move back to the Los
Angeles area where he continues to perform, record, and produce.
Autobiography
I
am an artist. I am creative. I can create. I do create. Often. But am
never satisfied. I am moved by simple things. Simple things move me.
Because simple things usually are not (simple). This idea is beautiful.
This idea humbles me. I am humble. Forever. I am a humble artist moved
by simple things. My humility is taken for kindness. My kindness is
taken for weakness. I am weak. I live weekly. Don’t ask me what my
schedule looks like next week. I don’t know. I procrastinate. Usually
because I am still moving from those same simple things. Life moves too
fast. Like 80 miles per hour. I make mistakes. Often. My God is never
satisfied. I think. I think about myself. I think about you. I think
about more than you and I. I think about life: a simple thing. I take
too long. I am slow. I write. Often. And two years later it makes sense.
I am an artist.
