Hullo all,
here's the latest nonsense from Irregular:
"Love & Death & Politics" (Irregular Records Irr068) should be available in the shops on october 27th, distribution by those luvverly people at Proper Distribution. This means you SHOULD be able to order it all over the place, & we really rather hope this is what you're going to do.

We really rather hope this is what you're going to do for several reasons:
firstly, it is actually bloody awesome; not only is it a pretty good collection of songs - 14 songs, with a "condition of albion at ground level" perspective (ie it's not hey-nonny-nonny nostalgia or noddalonga lessavvagoodtime festival crap), powered by the rocksolid rhythmn antics of Charlie & John, Robb's post punk electric noisy guitar & decorated with Roger's melodeon wizardry, AND bloody expensively mastered too!
secondly, it was VERY VERY bloody expensively mastered & Charlie would like his life savings back sooner rather than later,
thirdly - it's nearly XmouldTime - traditionally, Xmould is a time for The Rekkkord Bizz to dump lots of guaranteed unitshifting crap (though I am actually looking forward to the Clash live album) & mediocre best-f hollybollox mass-sellers on us... it's unlikely that anybody's going to be that bothered about trying to flog an album called Love & Death & Politics  when they could be shifting lorryloads of Cliff - so it's up to us to prove em wrong!
fourthly - it makes a great way to solve your xmould present problems - order several copies & just give em to those people who you never quite know what presents to buy for em at Christmas. they might not like it, who cares, but it will save you traipsing round the shops looking at shoddy plastic crap from China every saturday.

ok - & THEN there's the gigs!!!!
hope to see you at one of the following:

RJ & the Irregulars - the Love & Death & Politics tourette -

10/10: The Rising Sun institute Reading - full band! details on Big Untidy Bedroom website
15/10: The Komedia, Brighton - the Brighton album launch - more details tba,
25/10: The Worthing Beer Festival - somewhere in Worthing presumably...
31/10: Bristol Radical History gig - The Cube, Bristol
2/11: The Duke of Wellington, Shoreham
9/11: the 100 Club, Oxford St, full band + a set from Leon Rosselson!!!!! unmissable (also - possible taxi from Brighton, shared costs - email back if interested, Brighton posse!)

Komedia & 100 Club particularly significant venues, so be good if loadsapeople turned up to those gigs.

PLUS 12/10: Brel soiree, 4pm, Le Duc de Wellington, Shoreham, with Attila, Robina, Robb & Barb Jungr accompanied by Jenny Carr. - celebrating the phenomonal work of Jacques Brel, 30 years after his death, & still responsible for most of the best songs ever written, full stop.

ok - as usual, probably missed a few details: they may well be on the websites, because other people do the websites & they're obviously much more efficient than me, me being a hamster & all that. but get in touch if there's anything problematic....

cheers,

Lucy the Hamster
