Two hit men were looking for my brother. Or rather he got shot by the Germans. When the film crew didn't show up and were about an hour late because they were devouring the beauty of Joshua Tree Park, they filmed there, so they were late to the Palms. The production manager told me I was going to get shot when they ran the script by me, which I thought was scary because they asked us to play for the movie , the band would play. Then they asking if it was alright if they killed me. When they were late getting to The Palms, then I really wanted to play and I really wanted them to kill me. I thought they went back to Germany, because they had someone better to kill. And when they showed up with the costumes, which were bright red, made from satin. The material was thin with no insulation and bulbous and made movement wonderfully challenging, especially playing our instruments. so beautiful thinking of them now. We looked like Shakespearian actors on Miracle Grow for Tulips. And it was getting cold and we were to play outside on the outdoor stage. And it was freezing and we were filming until 3: 00 AM and someone kept calling saying they were going to call the police because he had to go to work and we said " work?" Who is this anyway? Can you hear us in LA? We played "I Don't Smile" a lot until they got it right, the film crew the camera man the other actors, the lighting people, and until the one guy with a job out here actually went to work, because he stopped calling. Then it came to James getting the axe, actually a hitman's poison dart. I realized he kept furrowing his brow when the fake blood was dripping and they had him fall backward on his back and his feet were sticking up over the snare. It was real cold and fake–bloody. I thought I should have been the one who got killed, ( for a while they were going to kill our bassist Thom) or they should have followed though and killed us all, filmically speaking, of course.
