WFDD derives from the initial of Wang Fang + Dickson Dee.

Wang Fang is the first experimental musician in China.  He is from Lanzhou,one of the important industrial Chinese cities.  He studied music by himself after demobilizing from the army.  In late 1990s, he started to create noise and minimal works.  Since 2001, he has released 3 albums including "Sound of Meditation Within the Body".  In addition to live performances and sound works creation, he also composes music for experimental films and plays.  He is a mystic.  He has been living in Beijing since 1996.
 
Dickson Dee is Li Chin Sung, a musician from Hong Kong.  In early 1990s, he started to engage in experimental music, industrial noise, and had released an album under the label Tzadik.  In recent years, he dedicates himself to live laptop sound performances.  He has worked with musicians from Mongolia and Tuva, making a new approach to experimental new world music.  As a publisher, his label, Noise Asia (previously known as Sound Factory), is the most important avantgarde music label in Southeast Asia, and has a deep influence on the independent music scene in China. 
 
Wang Fang and Dickson Dee has known each other for many years, but has never before worked with each other.  WFDD is a venture that overpasses the geographical distance and blends the cultural background.
