What's shakin' everyone? Hope you're all enjoying the first of the month. Big day for football huh? anyway... just dropped in to let you all know that my album Lovetry was recently submitted for digital distribution. This current moment, CDBABY.COM should already be creating about 40 different type of music files per song on my album for streaming and downloading before making it available on mp3 websites such as iTunes. Hopefully the wait won't take to long because I am very anxious to share my music with you. I promise I'll keep you posted as soon as I find out which available site will recieve its first copy for sale.
A lot of you don't understand what Digital Distribution is. Ever since the technology of music upgraded from a tape casset to an MP3 player, the world has become easier when it comes to purchasing music and a lot less stressful for Artists like myself when it comes to a budget on publishing work. As much as a lot of you would like an actual CD with a cover and a booklet of lyrics, it'd cost me $500 to a couple thousands just to make a small bundle of CDs for sale at stores. To most artists with a great management team or even just a band, it's easy for them to get together and spend a couple hundreds on deals like these. As for Ickest, since I am an independent solo artist, my budget is very limited since personal Life itself has other costs, like car payments, bills, and loans. Hoping you understand that, publishing work is a lot easier with a team of supporters. Overall, Digital Distribution means my album will only be sold online in digital; meaning in MP3s, so a physical CD will not be in stores. Sadly, i can admit that I am way to broke for a successful CD distribution. Afterall, iTunes will only sell my album $0.99 per song so you as a customer will get your money's worth!!
Hopefully some time in the very near future, I will be able to release music in a much more mainstream fashion.
Overall, my second release, Lovetry, is currently being processed for publishing and I will definetly bulliten and youtube the news as soon as its up on iTunes and other mp3 sites.
