Current mood:  thankful
Category: Music
Several of you have asked about this song, why I did it (especially since it is different from my other songs and from what I play), is there meaning behind it, what's up with the name, etc.

First of all, I know sometimes it is career suicide, but I don't want to have just one style that I necessarily stick to. I love music, dance/electronic music in particular and want to be free to express whatever finds its way out of me.

Second, some of you know that my grandmother (whom I was very close to) passed away shortly after Christmas at the age of 76. I started to put this track together shortly after her death as an expression to the craziness that was my family and my own mix of emotions that were present during and after her death. It was a piercing and crazy time, so it is a piercing and crazy track. My grandmother, among other things, was a major part in introducing me to culture and arts, particularly music. She was very much involved in the jazz scene and was friends with many of the greats of the genre. She had a tremendous love of life, experience, music, and was always ready for a party or any kind of social gathering. I can think of no better way to thank her for her part of who I am than to immortalize her through song.

Rest in peace Gramma. Thank you for everything, I love and miss you.

P.S. Yes, that is a picture of her attached to the song in the player.
