I've been thinking about the whole subject of marriage tonight. A good friend going through a tough time has sparked it off. I have decided it is three things.... a gift.... a calling..... and a decision. A decision to love, whatever the cost. Self sacrifice. Sacrifice for the benefit and blessing of another, and also for the benefit and nurturing of children, too. When you commit to one person for life, you discover total freedom. Freedom to grow, and help your partner to grow. And there should be no back door left open for a quick exit.
