"Blackpool is rocking all over the world – with bands named after the resort hailing from both France and America.
The American version of Blackpool were playing at the Galapagos Artspace in Brooklyn last Friday alongside Fragile.
Fronted by vocalist Melody Bleak the band is completed by Graham Vander Veen (bass), Dave Ciauro (drums), Erik Nyquist (guitar) and former member of Graves Tom Hatziemanouel (guitar).
Their music is described as being "for fans of 45 Grave, Joy Division, The Damned and Christian Death."
Melody Bleak has been likened to a cross between Siouxsie Sioux and Lydia Lunch – "very intense, suicidal and aggressive."
Their debut album is called Suspend Belief. True to form they have not responded to our attempts to contact them..."
