Hey, I'm Terrence. Or "Loco." I really don't care. I was born in Fostoria, Ohio, where my mom was a nurse and my dad was a safety inspector.

I was always fascinated by trains - how they were built, and how they worked. Fostoria is known as one of the busiest railroad cities in the US, so there was plenty to keep me interested. My dad encouraged me, but he always preached safety first. He helped me realize just how dangerous the area where we lived was, simply by showing me a map of all of the interweaving train tracks and news clips of people in our own city that had been killed by trains. It didn't scare me, but it made me aware.

It wasn't 'til I was about 10 or so, that I began to realize just how reckless other people were around the tracks. My friends would ride their bikes down tracks, put pennies on the rails to get smashed by trains, or hang around the railyard because there wasn't anything else to do. It was then that I first began to be a bit outspoken about the sick realities of track disasters.

Nobody liked hearing it, so I got picked on quite a bit for being such a "pansy." Eventually, I withdrew a bit from that crowd and started spending more time alone, using my dad's video camera to tape trains in town - from very safe places, of course.

Anyway, to keep a not-so-interesting story short, it was 3 years later when I showed up to school one day to find out that two of my old crew had been killed hanging out by some of the tracks that ran through town. By then, I was less into trains and more into skateboarding, but that's when I had a bit of an awakening.

A few years and a couple of cities later, I find myself on the east coast, just 30 minutes outside of DC, trying my hand at train safety advocacy. It's still a side job for now, but it's what I'm most passionate about. Anyway, I'm mixing up some video production with a little lobbying and a lot of heart. I'll be releasing my first train safety demo video soon, with hopes of doing some more appearances and live demos when and if my cause catches on.

I'll announce it here the second I launch my new site, WillYouGetNailed.com. I'll be posting my first video along with a behavior analysis that should help you evaluate your risk of getting nailed by a train.
