GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS
Good news: Saturday's 'Slim/Wheelchair Willy gig at Blues at the Farm was a sell-out and raised the grand total of £770 for our mate Paul Gillies's wheelchair fund.
It was a really special afternoon and a real treat in particular, to catch up again with so many of the old friends we made in the days when 'Slim were gigging regularly.
On behalf of both bands, we'd like to thank everyone who came along and gave us such a warm welcome. We're especially grateful to all those generous souls who donated over and above the admission price to boost the total - and to Roy and the guys from Blues at the Farm who not only worked hard to help us promote the gig, but also donated £60 in their own right.
If you missed the gig, but would like to make a donation to Paul's fund, you can find out how by going to www.myspace.com/wheelchairwillyandthewhiprounds
Bad News: Unfortunately, we've had to cancel this coming Saturday's (Nov 15) gig at Kelvedon Labour Club.
The reason is simple. Tim is a bit out of sorts at the moment - a combination of a minor ailment and having somewhat overdone things at the weekend (on top of Saturday's 'Slim show, he worked all day Sunday at Farnham Blues Festival). For this reason, the band has decided to cancel the Kelvedon gig to give him a decent rest.
We apologise to the club and to all those who were planning to come along and see the band on Saturday. However, we would like to stress the St Anne's Castle gig on December 6 is very much on and we are looking forward to seeing you all there!
All the best!
Tim, Ian, Howard and Don
