Category: Religion and Philosophy
When people hear the word "religion" they automatically assume that there is a higher power or god placed into this discussion. So many people are so quick to judge someone if they say they are an atheist. When you hear the word atheist some put the phrase "devil worshiper" along with that when it is quite the opposite. Atheism is based on the terms that you dont believe in any higher power or god or any form of religion. I place myself into this title, but there is a difference between myself and most "atheists". I was born into a strong christian family. I went to church for a good part of my life, until i wanted to discover the other side of the argument. People should stop and think about their views before they go off preaching. Think!... Theres 2 sides to this never ending controversy. Those who oppose the idea of a higher power, and those who worship a higher power. They both diferentiate themselves within terms of actually knowing the facts. Just like when i mention im an atheist to a christian, and they get a discusting look on their face like "how can you say that". Im not saying all but there are a hand full of christians that dont know both sides of the story. In fact, majority of christians today were born into christianity. Made to believe a certain way. Thats dehumanizing in general. You should have your own state of mind as to what you actually believe. Speculations can be made forever from now, but you should be able to decide what you believe in before its pushed on you. In my opinion believing that there is a god up there watching over us just seemed so, for lack of a better word. Stupid. The way i look at is that i can post this blog, and it wont change your mind at all. The arguement of religion will still be going on centuries from now. No one will ever know the truth. People will have their views and they will voice them as loud as possible. I myself look at the topic of religion as just a brainwashing tactic made up to keep the masses from getting out of hand. Religion was created to keep people in their place by putting a false sense of hope in their heads that if they just believed in god, they would be saved. Sorry my friends, thats not the case. When you die, you die. It doesnt matter what fucking religion you are. You still die. I just happen to think that there is no "god" in your sky looking over us. You may think differently, and thats okay. You may be brainwashed, but ill look past our differences and come to that youll do the same. Religion is fucking stupid. End of story.

*Note*- This isnt even the beginning of my thought process on this subject. If you want details of my views then message me.

your right, people do automatically jump the gun when they hear "atheist". as if though every atheist wants to have an orgy with "satan".

i always have something to say to you so you probably knew id say something about this. lol. i wasnt born into religion. my parents always gave me the choice. i went to sunday school a little when i was young. very rarely. and then when my dad, my brother and i moved across the country to california, my dad put us in a christian school. not to make us be apart of some sort of religion...just so that we wouldn't be in public school. and you know what? i fell in love with God the first day i was there. i mean, i was about 7 years old and there was chapel the first day i was there. and i just loved all the songs and i loved the Bible. obviously as i got older my understanding of the religion grew and grew. no matter what has happened in my life, i have looked to my faith and my God for support. ive gotten angry with God a few times...and i dont go to church like i used to. but my faith remains the same. i think that its better to let someone get into religion. if its forced, many people rebel. i think that my God is the only god...but i also think its wrong for someone to tell you that YOU are wrong for what you believe in. theyre your beliefs and its your afterlife, or your death. what have you. many christians feel that it is their mission to spread the word of God and a lot of them get the notion that when they meet an atheist or a muslim or even a jew their first act is supposed to be to tell the person they are wrong for what they believe in. i think that is just ignorant. so youre an atheist. i would love for you to believe in God as i do, and maybe one day you will. and i would love to sit here and tell you that jesus christ is your savior, because i believe that He is. but you will still believe what you believe. and all that means to me is when we die, i wont see you anymore. but thats what i believe in. my thoughts are so random and out of place, but im playing with lyla. when she lets me. shes crawling like a mad man and trying to open presents. lol.

I think you've definitely got some good points, and I agree with most of this.

However, one thing I did find a little bizarre was when you said that you can't have an opinion unless you see both sides. You don't have to be a serial killer to know that killing is a bad thing to do.

Otherwise, when people say, "i hate the president" or "i hate police", your argument suggests that you would have to be the president or a cop just to have your opinion on them.
See what I'm getting at?

I do respect your opinion, though, and I agree with the majority of this.

Kudos for you.

i definitely agree with you on that.

but none the less, majority of opinions are formed out being biast.

knowing both sides definitely isn't the biggest part, but it does help to know.

Christians are always the people to judge immediately or the ones to tell you about god and try to convince you that there is this mystical man that is watching over us like a herder and his sheep this blog is the Truth people need to get out of the confinement of their own head and look at both sides as u say

i think everyone should watch the movie Zeitgeist. it proves christianity is completely false. and it really makes sense. it's saying "god" is actually the sun , and it really proves it. it really helps give you a different outlook.
