If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chron. 7:14

Why don't friends with kids have time?
Current mood:
thoughtful
Category:

A friend forwarded me this, and I so identify with it, except multiply that by 4 children ages 6 and under, two of them still nursing. I'm treading water right now, that's for sure.

Tried to post this once and myspace ate it. If it shows up twice, delete one.
;-)
Okay, tell the truth which of my childless friends wrote to Carolyn about me? LOL! This is a fabulous column.
Good call posting this for the rest of us to enjoy!

My favorite part was about the clueless person thinking that kids are an excuse to relax and enjoy.
What??? Relax??? SINCE WHEN!?!

ROFL!!! it's an all day task just keeping up with my little one unshelving the books at our house, let alone the library! (not including, videos, toys, drawers and anything else she can get into!
I used to think i had energy,...then i had a daughter.

Melissa, right-click on the image of the article then save to your hard drive. Then upload to your choice of photo hosting site.

I think about you often and wonder how you can possibly be managing 4 kids so young. I technically have it easier with a 9 and a 10 year old. But my entire life (for the last 8 weeks) has been one step forward, two steps back.
Every single day I feel like I am just trying to come up for some air!
The other night, Tristan had a violent reaction to a medication. It was something that should have required an ER trip, but since Brent was out of town I knew that it was truly impossible to drive all four kids to the hospital and keep them there all night in a cramped examination room, etc. I thought to myself then, "Wow, maybe I should have stopped at 3...." lol

Thanks, Rae. I don't know what the answer is, but I keep telling myself that this is a short season of my life and to try to appreciate it and keep things in perspective. All the time I find myself thinking, "I can't do this," but somehow I *am* doing it, and you are too.
Probably we'll look back on these years of our life and say, "Man, *how* did we do that? That was hard!"

That is exactly what you will say. Take it from me. My twins are now 13 but it feels just like yesterday that one was going one way the other another way. You just jump into action and manage to grab them both before anybody gets hurt. You think it will never end and then..... Before your eyes they are almost grown.
