This week we have a review of the cracking Roebuck gig and another episode of the Rock chronicles for your viewing pleasure..
Gig Review
Two firsts, it was the first time Liquefy had played the Roebuck and it was the first time the Roebuck had hosted a drummer. With the compact stage area, other bands had failed to set up a drum kit, however, Liquefy picked up the gauntlet. Big Al put his tetris head on and helped the Jonster set up in the fireplace. With Bri and H positioning themselves in unfamiliar places, the band were ready, beats and all!
The first set kicked off in style and the crowd were warming up with a great summers eve atmosphere. Liquefy had pulled some vintage tricks out of the bag to ensure the pace was solid and with Jonster pulling beats from the Hearth, the buck was starting to buzz. The first set ended and it was half time burgers and a pint from the barby stand, could there be a better break?
The second set kicked off promptly, but the burgers must not have quite settled as the starting songs wavered a little. But Liquefy soon overcame the blip and kicked the evening up a notch. Chug mode was engaged and the set was played out with classic songs and good cheer.
Shouting for more, Liquefy obliged with some cheeky numbers that got the crowd singing. A top night that just didn't seem to want to end. With H about to hang his guitar, the venue still wanted more so turning round blind, he kicked into the final song which he hoped the rest of the band would pick up on. They did, it rocked, 'nough said!
