Current mood:  cantankerous
Category: Music

To coincide with the Liquefy boys debut performance at the Hope & Anchor this Saturday in Brereton, we have another update of the Rock chronicles, an old feature dragged up from the past and Liquefys take on the credit crunch.

Rock Chronicles

Credit Crunch

OK, with everyone's mortgage rate going up faster than the BOE can drop it, the old credit crunch is finally taking its toll on the band. As well as buying monochrome goods from the super market out of date bargain bins, there has been some cut backs and changes on the kit front too.

Big Al recently restrung his guitar with strings carefully wound of hair from the moulting neighbourhood cats. He also spent most of last month designing and constructing an innovative solar powered amp. He spent hours on the compact frame and ground breaking optimisation circuitry and the panels were carefully constructed from 2,126 recycled aluminium cans. No ones had the heart to tell him that Liquefy mainly play at night.

Jonster has obtained a plethora of back up drumsticks using a bunch of unwanted wizard wand props from the failed musical production of "Harry Potter and the Sound of Music". He's also re-skinned two of his drums with a material he's keeping most secret, but rumour has it that he found the mysterious materials in a dark layby off lovers lane.

H is still using the same set of factory strings his Ibanez came with. 23 years and still going strong. Although, he has started using cut up credit cards as plectrums and topped up his fast fret tub with the product of his last nasty cold.

Bri has bucked the trend with the comment "Fuck it, there's always ebay"..

Brimeisters Computer News

Well, people scoring high with the Nintendo Brain training franchise may remember this feature that ran last year. If not, then all you need to know is that Bri had one armadillo of a time upgrading his old computer, with a sorry saga involving ebay, a bag of nuts, deep blue and the attention of NASA. Alas, this tale is yet to be put to bed, as further developments have revealed that his old computer has come back to haunt him from the ebay grave of unsold crap.

Regular gig attendees will have noticed that Bri has been fine tuning his mega bass sound with some choice pedal purchases from, yep, ebay. While his new kit looked and sounded great at first gander, it has since been discovered that the inner workings of these pedals of effects goodness are actually built from remnants of his old computer and they've gained intelligence all of their own!

The band knew something was awry when his compressor pedal asked Jonster for a game of chess!

"What about a Spanish beer called nada?"
